is finally upon us.
as you can see i use a very scientific way of germinating.
root riot, upside down glass and a bit of tin foil. chuck them anywhere convenient. happens to be a dark cupboard this time, and check every 12 hours.
usually takes 36-48 hours to break ground. once theyre up i’ll turn the 130w CFL on. after some experimenting i realised they dont need light to pop so i just start them off gently. let them get the shell off then bathe them in 14000k for a couple weeks. i found my leds are just too strong for the young ones. kept the nodes too tight and didnt allow any stretch. i could always have just raised the light a bit but i like to keep them on the burning point. i have the time so might aswell try and keep them in the optimum lighting range. got no idea what that is in lumens or whatever so please dont ask lol i just a measuring tape and the signs of leaf stress to judge it. : )
