Indoor SCH & Chaze done wrong

sweet bro goodluck :)

Belated happy Guy Fawkes day, everyone.

Nothing untoward to report...yet.

Temps ranged from 57-102 last week. The 102 was a one-off result from incompetent re-setting of my timers a couple days after daylight savings time changed. But I caught that in a day. They're still running in the 90's for ~2 hours a day between fan off and lights off. The bulk of their day is still spent in the mid-to-high 70's. Humidity still mostly in the 20's-30's.

After today's acid rain, the Chaze had runoff ~6.4 :dance2:, but the SCH was still ~6.0. :( Not going to do anything for another week. It's all the same three layers of different soil , so I suspect the SCH pot just has some channels where the H2O is flowing through quickly. Nothing 'deficient' going on, so I'm not gonna sweat it...yet.

Lowered the light to 8" today. That oughta cook 'em good.

Both girls started branching last week. I haven't seen any signs of sex yet.

Fair Warning:
Squeamish auto flower enthusiasts may want to avert their eyes and come back in a couple weeks.

So, I cropped the SCH today.

I hear your screams: "You can't/shouldn't/don't crop autos, moron/idiot/newb!". I would have done the Chaze, too, if I had a clean look at the stem above the 2nd or 3rd node. I may still do it some time this week. I'm a little more hesitant to butcher the Chaze, as it's a tester, but I said going in that I was going to have to do some ugly things to keep these girls in the tent. If she goes all 'shrubbery' on her own, I'll let her go for a while. But I think that if you are going to crop an auto (and this is not an endorsement of that kind of behavior), you need to do it early enough that the plant can recover before the onset of flowering. BWTFDIK? For that matter, I might just run them as cropped/uncropped side-by-side as an experiment.

Meanwhile, the photo girls are starting to go nuts. My original intention was to keep 'em going in case I didn't get enough IBL seeds from the lower seeded branches which I pollinated early and which didn't really grow much afterwards. But I got at least 30 nice seeds from each of the IBL and cross pollinated branches, which is plenty for me. Still playing it by ear, but I think that Malawi will need to be put into flower in a few weeks if it's going to be kept. Decisions, decisions....

looking great bro keep it up :)

Wow, thanks Griever. :D So far, all I've done is keep two (out of three) plants alive for almost 3 weeks. While violating two of the sacred tenets of AFN: 1) Ph is everything and 2) Thou shall not crop autos. I'll try to pass that rep on to someone who deserves it. :o

Oh, and I suppose I should add: 3) Thou shalt not clone autos. So...I stuck the SCH's (former) head in the sand. Just in case it wants to grow roots and further complicate my limited tent space. :howdy:

Fortunately, the SCH's decapitated head succumbed to a jungle of mold after a mere 12 hours in a ghetto humidity dome, but it's absence seems to have greatly motivated the Chaze to go all shrubbery. Which has saved the Chaze's head. I feel vindicated in topping the SCH because 1) I think I can get 4 colas out of her if I don't have to LST too aggressively and 2) her bottom node is STILL barely branching out at all. Meanwhile, the Chaze is branching like her head depends on it.
:howdy:

I haven't seen any sign of sex on the girls yet.

Temps ranged from 57-106 last week. I rely on cool ambient evening temps to moderate temps between AM lights on and fan on a couple hours later. One warm evening caused the 106 just before fan on. Humidity from 16-73%. PM humidity is creeping up as more greenery gets in there to transpire. Ph still a tad low on the SCH, I didn't get any runoff to test from the Chaze. They seem healthy enough to me...so far.

For comparison, here's seymour-buds' White Sirius at 27 days from seed: https://www.icmag.com/ic/picture.php?albumid=39919&pictureid=953086 . Makes these look "done wrong" indeed.:crying: His/her thread is here: https://www.autoflower.org/f21/white-sirius-dwc-l-e-d-12289.html . You know, if you're into that whole "done right" thing.

I'm still unsure what I'll do with the re-veg girls. I think I remember Stitch in another thread telling someone else who was trying to grow Super Autos inside to switch to 12/12 for a little while to induce flowering & stretch, then go back to long light. I could have misinterpreted that, as his English isn't great and my comprehension is worse, but I think I'll try something like that. A little while after both girls are into pre-flower, go 12/12 for a couple weeks, then back to 18/6 once they're in full flower mode. That would also buy me a couple weeks to figure out what I'm doing with the re-veg girls. I really don't want to spend 4-6 months schlepping them in and out of the tent twice a day. A tent that might not have room for them pretty soon, anyway. I can't decide today, but I'm going to need to make a decision (on the Malawi, at least) this week - one way or another.

Happy turkey day in the US, (other countries celebrate genocide differently - or not at all). :peace:

looking nice bro great health i cant wait to see whats to come :)

mate i can rename threads if u wanna change it ask me

lol. im subbed. i like your devil may care attitude. keep on keepin on. in a world full of youtube tutorials and countless descriptive grow journals, one man rises above them all to give the rules the finger, taking fcuk it to new levels of extraordinary apathy. may your plants thrive despite you.

"now usually I don't use hydrochloric acid during flowering, but I promised myself I wouldn't give a shit." rofl.
