Are you sitting comfortably? Then we'll begin.

In 2012 I was lucky enough to be posted some Black Dragon #2 to the UK :dragon2:. I set about growing these, with some great results. I am a sucker for a lovely purple bud.

To not lose out on future crops I bred a couple out in 2013. Some of those seeds I grew out again, while with the remainder I put away in my sealed seed box.

Fast forward another 5, nearly 6 years, and the memory of those Dragons makes me dig the seeds out. I've grown out seeds as long a 4 years old, but not 6+ years. Results are not good, as discussed on the below thread. Very low rate of germination, and when they do - tired is the word that springs to mind.

Still, life is life in my weed world. I very rarely throw out a growing plant, actually I can't remember when the last time would have been. We keep going then...

And still they came through. This is now weeks into planting.

I decide to transfer everything growing (barring the male) into a larger pot, as my tent was getting full.

I also decide to use the pollen from the male (which is showing purple traits), to pollinate any females.

I also have a very small female, which is showing a purple.

That's us pretty much up to date now. A little vid below with my current tent, just potted up.

The male on the top left, and pot with the multiples are the Dragons.

Moving forward I intend to keep beating the male on any plants which show female signs, until the end of the week. After that I need to pull the male from the tent, as my normal 12/12 crop is being flipped.

I will harvest a little pollen before it is destroyed, just to try and ensure I get some seeds - as I can dab later in the grow if the females do not look seeded. I'm not sure if I need it, as I believe the small purple female is already preggers. Better to be safe though.

Another week or so down, and things have moved on a little. We are now on a 12/12 light schedule. The male has been removed from the tent, and destroyed. It was chucking out loads of pollen till right near the end, and then when I went to collect it would not produce. I don't think it will make any difference now, as I believe the females are seeded.

We have a confirmed two females now, while the remaining three are not doing anything. No matter, we have the females we wanted.

Here are the plants that have not shown, and this is now a couple of months since they broke ground.

I'm not even sure this one is an auto.

And now the females. The larger one has just recently shown.

Then the smaller female, with the Purple traits.

This pic shows it best.

Hey man, nice effort and well worth the time. I hate paying for seeds twice and devote much time to hacking fem only beans and doing re runs for gifting/selling. Stone is great for releasing most of his gear in reg seed. Have 100 reps on me.

Very kewl! I’ll be interested to see how this turns out. I’m a sucker for purple. I’ve never had any of my own but I love how it looks. I thought about getting some Ninja Fruit seeds from Dojo/Oregon Elite. It produces the beautiful purple but $120us for 10 regular seeds is a bit steep for me right now. Hope your breeding turns out well and you get a good viable stock to preserve! Have you ever considered keeping a purple mother?

Cheers @Tbag fingers crossed for some new beans from it. I've been collecting seeds for a while now, and it's gutting when they don't break ground.
