Is absolutely beautiful what you have got going for you here Mossy, have lurked in this thread on a daily basis and every day i am so impressed with the progress you are making, a true sanctuary for sure and my dream for when i get to retirement. Have got a couple of old friends from Murcia who for years have been growing cactus, succelents and chillis with the same organic methods and ways to sell at the local market, just being here and seeing your pics brings back happy memories of my time in the south.

Interesting what you have to say about the citrus oils and mite control, the latest bottle of neem treatment i bought shows it to have a 80% content of neem extract and a 20% content of citrus extract also, has had me thinking what the citrus extract was for and after seeing you post all makes sense now.

Well best of luck with all you got going on, and keep living your dream.

EDIT: Just found out that my friends have got a blog going now, so here it is if you would like to check out what they have going on http://www.cactusinspain.com/

Here's another idea for your palm and any other debris you have around the property. How easy is it to rent a chipper in Spain?

Ah Mr P...I hadn't considered a chipper.
I have saved the apple and orange tree wood for learning how to Smoke...I could use a chipper to break them down too...:tiphat:..food for thought..

Talk about fucking living the dream!!! I got dibs on something that comes out of that love hut LOL..man enjoy ENJOY!

Hopefully I get the blue print down for when you retire....:coffee2:..and you can join the ranks of AFN Health Farms..I'm sure we could do it with any sized garden...

Let Food be Thy Medicine...:Hookah:..and a bit like me canna...I like to be in Charge of the Process...

I've invested in a Neem Tree too...but it will need a few years to grow..:coffee2:..Last year on Andy Botwins advice I tried the orange (peel) oil..simple 1 teaspoon to a ltr spray and it was spot on..but I only tested on a citrus plant..so I'll try some more Tender plants this season..see how it does..best doseages etc..

Excellent Thank You...I will check it out.

OBTW...when we went down this morning..on the south facing patio full sun was 4C..tunnel was 10C..
by lunch time patio was 10C..tunnel was 20C....

so it Works

Morning Mossy, wow things are really coming together on the farm. You may want to consider some water barrels along the north wall of the hoop house as solar collectors. I have been impressed by how well mine have worked in the greenhouse. Provides warmth at night and cooling during the day on sunny days to help moderate temps. Cheap way to extend the growing season for tender plants.

along those lines:

it affects Circadian Rhythms also:

Thanks for the link JM got some homework to do, not heard of cicadian rythms before but makes total sense, thanks bud :)

Congratz on 12000 post :D

Mossy, Inbox? ;)

Not currently ;) a lot of ladies like to defoliate their gardens these days, gone are the days of the 1980's bushy under growth XD lol {please excuse me , it was too much of a humorous double entendre to pass it up}

for the garden, they need to be ramial wood chips: (from branches / trees LESS than 2 inches in diameter)

Sounds like a throw down right there JM lol

Mossy has only got to get another 370 posts and your even Stevens.

If Mossy posts just one more post than you daily there will only be 5 points in it by this time next year.

Oh Brilliant sniper....:kusht:..I hadn't Thought of that.

JM has been site post leader since we opened up..I can feel myself closing in on him now thought.

We've got the plumber coming to the house today..new toilet in the upstairs cupboard..and a boiler in the washing cupboard on the patio..:jaw:....

so we spent all day yesterday cleaning up all the evidence...:coffee2:..you know what I mean..

Gotta pray that he doesn't open the beer fridge for a cold drink..it is packed to the gunnels.

I went to chop down the white Ghost chillies..they have been stood on the patio since summers end..let to dry out and die..
but after I trimmed the first stem to get it down in the rubbish bag..I found loads of new shoots..

You know me..I'm a sucker if a plant is Trying..so I trimmed the other 3 and I'll throw it in the tunnel...give it a chance.

I Can normally overwinter chillies in the conservatory..but because I put too many in the pot I didn't bother....looks like the chilli had other ideas.

Hopefully I get back for a yap when the plumber is done...

What a day...."pher Wiggle"..I took the dogs down the Ranch so they were out of the way of the plumber...and the Farmer arrived.

Hubby was Gutted...but he was the Runner/mate for our plumber friend..so he had to Miss it.....he would only get tractor Envy anyway.

Farmer says he will be back in a few days with the small tractor to do the interior paddock......:dance2::dance2:

Soil is surprisingly dry and crumbly..I have seen it puddling when the rains had been..so I expected a bit more clay.
