They will ONLY grow IF they receive enough light energy, which 12hrs from seed is not enough energy, to make them grow... so no they probably won't... if started from 12/12... if started from a different cycle then changed to 12/12 then yes they would do a little growing at lights out, but it's never that much anyways... even if they receiving 18 or 20 hrs of light...there been plenty of test grows 12/12 from seed, they very very small plants... they simply need a longer light peroid for first 7-21 days of life or I doubt any growth will take place during the dark, thats why over all plant of a 12/12 don't even hit 12" high... the entire size of plant is the stretch during pre-flower... and if plant known not to strech that gonna be a huge problem, coz your depending on stretch for size with a 12/12 from seed grow. It's simple pops this isn't about the 12/12 I posted a theory and question. The response was simply plants don't grow at night. That's all that I'm arguing. Plants do indeed grow at night.
We focus so much on light. And I'm just now thinking this, but what's the optimal darkness period? We spend money on everything else, let's think on how to reenforce the money well spent on an optimal dark period. Then genetics are involved, and how the seeds were bred, but there's a lot of factors involved. It's great to have this conversation because hopefully you or I or someone watching, with the means to test this further can do so. A statement like plants don't grow at night is ignorant in my opinion.
