also it will get darker if its too hot ..the lower the temps the more the terps .If you all want to get fancy or make clear build this https://www.opensourcesteel.com/collections/laboratory-glassware/kit not a bad price really .I haven't sourced each part to see whst it really cot to build .but really doesn't look to hard to do. Make that CLEAR 92-94% THC lol that stuff is CRAZY I had some and first i was mad thought it was some k-2 crap but no it wa just that good lol Yea Get the silk bags for sure thats what i was talking about. Get them asap stop trying to learn with other stuff and just get the best lol

Yeah I'm looking at some of the bags on the Rosin Tech site now, @briman is recommending some to me to try. The reason I haven't crammed more material in is because it's blowing out in the coffee filter (again, possibly just the way I'm making the packet.) I'll tinker with the press and see what I can do with it. Man we need to hang out sometime it sounds like

I'll toss you an update hopefully tonight or tomorrow brother; the next pics are from last week and my initial go-around still but I have some pretty good pics that will correlate up with what you guys have been saying as well. I've been using the same trim ran through a kief screen multiple times (ran three times,) and when you see the next set of pics you'll clearly see it's MUCH darker than the first presses (which would indicate the increased amount of plant matter from each consecutive run on the kief screen.)

Is there any reason to NOT press beyond the first 1 or 2 presses simply to increase the amount of substance pulled out? I understand there is more plant material in there; but it's still dabbable I've found and still more desirable to me than sitting there chongin' bong rips of leaf. I just didn't know if it was "booschwah, pinky-in-the-air-while-we-drink-our-tea" kind of thing or not haha! Keep the first press or two separate knowing it's the pure goodness, then a separate one for the "I'm going to squeeze every damn drop of oil out of this thing that I possibly can?" Or did I just invite the entire trailer park into the rosin press thread?

Hot damn I need to go fire that press up. I'm going to try to slow the ram waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down so it gets a nice, slow squish before it achieves max pressure. The way I have this currently set up, the ram arm goes up pretty quick. There's an adjustment dial on there; I'm going to go fiddle with it. Would love to figure out the secret to the flower press.

Perfect yea slow the ram down ..you want like a double press one to warm up the hole thing then the press to squeeze it out..and you want it low temp ..I see some doing it at 190ish getting gold mustard lol heat is making it darker . the more passes the more het tht was on it burnin up your terps. Go low then go mid temp for secon pass then use the rest for cooking or hot co co.. yummm man I hope you have allot of material to work with..try pressing an OZ of flower when you get the hang of it..some fresh flash frozen ..Get that meth weed dab its crazy ..makes my eyes futer lol

I have been looking into presses for a long time I have Never pressed a thing though. How is it for time or quantity. I know hash yields the best but would you recommend this for trim or larf? I need something that works fairly quickly to extract lbs of this sort of crap.

They make a rolling drum unit for shaking out large quantities of trim/larfy buds like you're talking about; honestly that might be a better option if you're going in it for the long haul. In terms of speed, this is fast man. The longest part of it is waiting for the press, but I've got a 150 PSI compressor on it and even rapid fire pressing, one after another, it keeps up and I haven't any issues with it. With a unit this size, I think you'd be more than set (the plates are so large, it'd be easy to get your packets ready and just go at it.)

I'll be firing this thread back up here hopefully soon; I actually find myself right in the middle of selling my home, so I've had to get a bit clever with where I stick a 155 pound rosin press unit while strangers are trying to decide what colors they would paint the walls if they buy the place lol. I've got a buddy that's been dying to try it out so hopefully I can sneak an update in with it here soon!
