Grilled cheese. All this unboxing builds up an appetite, the plates heat independently to up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit, and there's 8,000 pounds of pressure. Seriously, you can make a sandwich in this thing in like 10 seconds. Panini's? Gettouttatown.

Alright, so are a few shots of the walls coming down!

It's packed very well, the foam is very rigid and I don't see how this could really shift around a lot during transit. That's a metal strap holding it in.

Ever seen the movie Short Circuit? I'm naming this thing Johnny 5.

That short red hose attaches to the pressure regulator and to your air compressor (I'll get into that more in detail later.)

Massive 4 inch by 8 inch plates that heat independently up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. The top plate is fixed to the unit and the bottom plate is attached to the ram.

This tube below attaches to the guts inside the press and the other end of the tube attaches to the pressure regulator.

Here's the front of the press and the controls:

This is a push-button latch to get inside the machine:

The knob on the left is the tension control for how fast/quickly the bottom arm/ram moves up and down.
There's the middle red Emergency Stop just in case dangly bits get caught in the press or the panini smells like it's burning.
And of course the red on/off switch.

There are two control sets, the left set controls the top plate temperature and the LENGTH of time that the press stays together.
The right set controls ONLY the bottom plate temperature, although it will still let you set the length of time for the press (but it doesn't do anything.)
It was incredibly easy to set the temps and press time on this. I'll go through it here in a bit!

You can see the guts and the big ram in there. It's VERY clean and VERY tidy cabling job.

On the back of the machine, there's a mounting spot for the pressure regulator which I'll show some pics of here soon:
