Extraction Rosin Pressing

I've got small preserve jam jars that would be perfect

Thank you.
I've had shatter before, it was expensive at £65 for 1 gram
Could never get the hang of using the rig and flame to smoke it tho and ended up just putting it into
Normal bongs and probly wasted most of it.
Would rosin be kinda the same in texture and the high given off it.
Even a tiny jam jar is a lot of rosin. Makeup jar or smaller. Just a gram of rosin doesn't take up much room

How do you heat cure? Do you just use your press and kinda sandwich your jar in between them to heat it?

:yeahthat: with the jar wrapped in parchment. But it's not something that I particularly like to do. But it can be done.

So what is the point, just trying to change the consistency is all? :pass:
That's all really.

I don't really like a heat cure personally. Normally, I just load my jar and put the lid on it. Then I shut my press off and temp it with a laser. When it hits 100° F, I set the jars on the bottom plate for a few minutes, or just long enough to let the rosin settle, and then let them completely cool without opening.

:yeahthat: This has always been my question on rosin curing. I've always just thrown it in a jar and smoked it.

@Dale's Proper Bud thanks for the rep! :d5:
:yeahthat: I just put it in jar and then whip it whipping rosin then smoke it

No problem I am learning just as much in here I am no master only been doing this less than 1 yr Consuming on the other hand is different story

You can "cold cure" which will preserve the terps and change the texture. You just take your rosin and whip it together and put it in the dark in the fridge for a couple days. I just wrap the jars in electrical tape and put them in the drawer in the fridge. After 3 days or more, put the jar in your pocket until it warms enough to whip it again. At that point you'll have creamier blonde rosin with no loss of flavor. Store in the fridge for long term

So…. I just went down a rabbit hole…from what I gather, the curing and whipping is done to make a more shelf stable product that won’t separate. Folks seem to do this because, as we know, dispensary products sell on a “bag/jar appeal” basis….so a smooth buttery product, or “diamonds in sauce”, or the other interesting textures that can be achieved by warm or cold curing and whipping, will sell better regardless of terpene loss or alteration.

Long story short, great if you own a dispensary, not great if you like terpy rosin….
Again, from what I gather. The internet has steered me wrong before..:haha:
