STAY THE FUCK AWAY FROM DOLOMITE LIME LIKE EARTHBOX SAYS TO ADD!!!!! I TOLD U IT WAS UNNECESSARY AND I ADDED ANYWAYS FOR CALCIUM AND MAGNESIUM AND SCREWED MYSELF!
Glad I bought a siphon pump for $10 so gonna flush the shit outta this soil and then siphon out the reservoir! Holy shit no wonder they are so pissed at me!!!!!

The problem apparently is due to the bottom watering the lime is never pulled down into the soil so that upper layer is sitting at a super high ph vs few inches lower where it’s more like 6.8! Guess I’m gonna ph some water to 6.0, flush medium really good, and then I’ll siphon out the reservoir and recheck in a couple days! If need be I’ll water in some old unflavored coffee to pull it down into range faster before it’s too late!

Dude! That's why I don't have huge giants in the EBs right now. Been dealing with it for a damn month now. F*CK EBs recs!
If you're gonna flush your media, that's your choice, but flush the rez too after the run off stops.
I've stopped keeping the rez full. I'm doing like BAS Jeremy and only adding water when the rez goes dry. That what I'll do from now on.

IF you still have a lot of time left on that grow, after the moisture level comes back down from the flush, hit that media with compost tea with Boost added at the end of the brew and then add barley SST tea to the other tea at the time of application. I used no more than a half gallon on each EB to make sure I got no runoff in the rez.

I don't think ph your water will help. That dolomite might react and break down more.

Well just a bit below it ph was 6.88 so it’s just sitting in that top layer! Even if i need to go grab some yucca to pull that shit down that’s what I’ll do!!!!

This was lil bit deeper and come to add it all together now the ph started going funky when I started topwatering in the food so apparently it was sitting in very top layer and adding the lil water I did use caused it to finally pull down into soil and shoot whole box ph up too high!

U can see that was taken lil deeper than 1st test!

Yeah I thought the soil pooped out early.. thats my comment from monday. Also I dont think the ph is really an issue. I never check my ph in tlo..anything between 6-7.5 is going to be fine and a little fluctuation is good really.
If youre having to check your ph all the time, your soil is out of wack and flushing it with ph adjusted water wont help dude. I also find it suspect how those photos stretched so much?

Earthbox tells u to add like 1/4 cup of dolomite powder at beginning of grow but didn’t trust it so did lil over a tbsp since soil ph was 5.9 out the damn bag! Then was 6.25 at beginning of flower so added another tbsp or so and it obv just sat in upper layer of soil and below was fine or it all just kicked in from what I added at beginning of flower! It obv wasn’t needed and should have heeded my own advice when I always tell people ignore that step cuz box wasn’t designed for canna so neither are the instructions!

I put 3gal thru soil and then siphoned it out reservoir and man it stank like shit! Went in as plain water with hydroguard ph’d to like 5.8!
Came out as this......

Apparently did what it needed to just not sure if 1 time will be enough! Gonna go run an errand and I’ll siphon any last water out that comes thru while I’m gone and then they’ll get food! Lots n lots o food!
