It was brand new and ph was 6.61 last time I checked it! I got a soil probe that’s dead on accurate so just gotta stab a hole with a king palm packing stick (so don’t break the glass tip) and insert it and takes couple minutes! Was def a sound investment!

Soil was brand new stuff from local shop! Autos so close to being done that can’t really fix it now but photos are waaaaay worse and it didn’t really start happening til flower when lights were out for 12hrs! My tents are in my bedroom so during lights out tents drop to about my rooms temp which is always low 70s! I got a small oil heater for the 2x4 but Walmart was sold out the 1 I need for big tent so since small tent is worse temp swings I’m hoping it helps! Even air temps were like 84 in day and would hit 70 on regular basis which they say u don’t want swings of over 10 at max! I never paid attention to the fact it coulda been root of all the stress!

looks like the soil pooped out. I believe optimal root zone temp is 70-75.. with swings of 5-10 degrees acceptable?

Air temps can swing 5-10 but root zone more particular! If my roots stayed closer to 70 during lights on would be fine it’s just the crazy swing when lights go out that they don’t like! I’ve been using bokashi that has nutrients in it so not like I just poured soil from bag and doing water only! It’s had extra grub along the way! May need to pull out my seedling mat and lay it over 1 of the EB juniors to see if it keeping soil temp close to same temp 24/7 makes any difference! Guess time will tell!

Maybe Im confused!! LOL
hmm..As I understand it, root zone temps become an issue in a scenario where you have intense light and low root temps due to the fact that lower root zone temps lower plant metabolism giving you a more squatty plant. I dont know if a 6 degree drop in root zone temps from 76 to 70 (70 is optimal according to ed rosenthal) during lights off could cause such an issue as youre experiencing. Hope you get it worked out either way. Gonna be fire still!
GL!

I doubt if root temps fluctuate that much.

This is from a sensor with just a probe on it reading soil temps! And this is the fluctuation between just midnight when new day started and now!

But like I said thinking since the plants have food the root zone fluctuating that much during 6hrs of lights out is only thing I can come up with why they acting hungry! Not worried so much about the autos tho they are gonna finish it’s the photos in the 2x4 really having issues! I am 99% positive it’s a root issue whether related to temp drops or maybe being over 6’ tall they may have got rootbound in the earthbox since I gotta use a king palm packing stick to get thru them to get a ph reading! Really stressing me out tho whatever it is!

If you're sure of your nutrients, I say try to increase your biological activity.
Do you have stickies around the tents for bugs? Maybe you have some sort of root infestation. Just throwing stuff out there..

Don't think temp fluctuation is as big of a deal as people suspect. My room regularly drops 10 plus degrees overnight. My temps go from 81 during the day to 70 or below regularly. Don't know about root temps, but high tent temp fluctuations is suspected to bring out more intense coloration in your plants. As in 10+ degree fluctuation between day and night temps.

Maybe some barley or popcorn SST is in order? I don't recall you posting about it recently.
