Wouldn’t hurt to hear if I should just top the big box off with this! Only shitty part is compost was in with this soil til about a week ago!

Hey either @MrOldBoy or @slowandeasy can y’all give me a guesstimate what the hell is going on here?? Had no issues and all of a sudden I woke up today and this plant seems like it’s lost almost all it’s life! Leafs are limp and flopping over and has me confused! Don’t see any kind of bugs or anything so no clue what it could be since cant overwater in earthbox! I’m totally confused!
View attachment 1189030 Feeling at this rate the damn thing may be dead by tomorrow! Any clue what could cause this cuz seems like where have to fill the juniors up daily this thing maybe twice a week and doesn’t take much to top it off almost like it’s not wicking it up like it should! I’m mad confused here! Thx and hopefully u can share a pointer to bounce this thing back!
To me that plant looks like you may have killed it. Possibly any stem rot or busted stems from Scrogging? If your plant is barley drinking water then there is a root issue most likely. Are you sure those are springtails and not root aphids or anything bad? FWIW, I now keep my rez 1/2 full the firat few weeks of life. Also, not sure how much you have top dressed this plant? Keep top dressing away from the main stem, and Dont over water from the top when you top dress. I mist mine for a few days, and keep Rez 1/2 full to keep the moistute level.good.

I’m almost positive springtails cuz whenever I saw 1 and tried to get close it would jump and they came out that bag of oly mountain fish compost I got! Sucks but I was worried same when I saw how limp and dead it was today! I don’t think I broke anything under net but I’ll do up close inspection! But ya this thing fell off downhill fast so figured I’d watch and if it indeed croaks I’ll prob pull that box to run some smaller pots cuz doing a 1/2 gal growoff and so I’ll need something beneficial to eat these things cuz can’t chunk soil with over 1/2lb of worms in it!

And I just looked up root aphids I actually saw some of these and they were longer and skinnier, looked like 6 legs and they were both super white and also a brownish color! Then when I’d pick up a piece of the wood from that compost I saw them on they’d jump off! Sound like springtails? I know picture would be 1000X easier but haven’t managed to keep 1 still long enough yet!

For a plant to go downhill that quickly, it almost always goes back to the root system. You may have root rot or something you dont know about in your root zone? If you have been keeping too moist, the stem can rot. Just thinking out loud. Because it went down hill quickly. Rootzone problems are my quess.. good luck, slow

Haven't gone through the whole thread. What medium are you in? It could be:

over or under watered, root problems such as root aphids or root rot, or too much light. I suspect either over watering as it seems to have happened quickly, or I see some yellowing at the top so the other possibility is light burn.

It’s in soil but in earthbox so not sure how water could be off since it’s auto wicked up! I was thinking root issues too cuz the only thing I changed recently was I pulled that bottle ring off so I could seal up the cover and tons of little feeler roots had grown just below that surface so I think I messed em up pulling that off! Checked and no breaks in stem or anything so not sure besides root issue what it could be! If it does I’m changing the cover and I’ll cost it in diatomaceous earth for any springtails on surface and wanna kill em before replanting but not sure how! Damn sure don’t wanna have to toss my soil with the worms in it so not sure how to harvest them if I gotta chunk soil! Man bad day in marks garden all around! :cuss::coffee2:

Looks like over watering to me, you have to remember that even though water is being wicked its also evaporating up ^ into the soil. Where it can't escape because of the cover. So the only way the water can get out is by transpiration through the plant. Don't fill your Rez all the way, try half full till the plants root system develops and starts really feeding a drinking. I don't think spring tails are bad more of a nuisance but you definitely don't want a infestation in your grow. Hope I helped Mark :goodluck:

Oh and if you want to get a picture or a good look of the bugs you have, get a piece of clear tape and let them stick to it. Then you can scoop them better.

Yes sir def helped! Unfortunately feel she’ll by fully dead by morning and if so I’ll start a new 1 and direct plant it! Also before I do I’ll turn it on it’s side to empty the rez and rinse it thru with some clean water! It could also be from the straw in top part of soil and worms aren’t eating it fast enough! Plus was lil moist when I added it but this literally happened overnight after filling rez on Friday and didn’t take much of anything to top it off! I hope the mites I got from worm bin are the predator mites that’ll eat some springtails and eggs and I’ll return bag of compost 1st thing! Didn’t think could overwater in the boxes but now I know better! I’ll figure out how much water it takes from empty (unless someone knows what full size holds in rez ) that way I know what to add and I’ll just do 1/2 until plants more than established and healthy! :thanks:
