The thing is I haven't really given them anything. That stupid miracle grow perlite with added Nitrogen is the prob I think.I put about 1 1/2 inches on top trying to deal with fungus gnats and I think when I watered it concentrated it into the soil. They call it miracle grow cause its a miracle ur shit grows with it....

Miracle grow tomato food will do in a pinch, I've run a few outdoor seasons on just that and had ok results but I don't use it unless I have to

Yes. I usually order a gallon of the stuff from amazon for about 25 bucks.

there's also a percentage purity rating, amazon has a 99.9% food grade in quart size for about 20 bucks or maybe it was less.
