I don't like making tea for myself. I just top dress, I know weed was grown well, well before compost teas. Crap I would probably brew something far worse than the corona by brain fart. Those guys are shade tree to the max. Large operations should crop spray with aircraft

I'm sitting on the fence with Compost teas. Have never seen any benefits myself that I wouldn't see with worm cast top dress.
My question is, if we were to 'feed' a Compost tea molasses as a carbohydrate source, are we not just narrowing down the specific microbe populations, my understanding of it is certain microbes will not be suited to consuming molasses?
If this is the case, we are probably decreasing the population variation by brewing a tea?
Its a complex subject that we are probably years away from understanding.

I have never heard that. I don't see how that is possible, but I sure don't know everything.

In 3min, he talks about identifying what microbes are in your compost before brewing teas. I started doing that in around 91-92 when I started my large scale tea spraying on my Coastal Bermuda field. Best I remember it was a Listeria scare that made me look into checking what's in my compost. The school was getting new microscopes, so I bought one of the old ones. It brought me back to when I was a kid and the first time I looked thru a microscope. I got pretty good at ID'ing the little bugs. The scope is sitting in it's box somewhere in my shop.

I'm not using teas now or in the foreseeable future because I'm not making the compost myself. Most of what "compost" you can buy is not compost in my book. Most has too much identifiable material and some compost that's screened to remove those identifiable materials isn't properly finished. It's just small particles. Call me a compost snob if you will, but I know what REAL compost is.

Thats exactly wat they said in that 4hrs compost well real quality compost isn't easy to get bc the market is saturated with inferior products which is partly why the bro science is applied and the thinking that canna has some crazy nute demand ect that people just pile on random amounts of stuff and think it works well when in fact ur wasting money and decreasing yeild. And ya that pig shit deal I believe was in Maryland and that's a scary thing and I often wondered if something similar maybe on the horizon bc the lack of regulation on wats sold I think we need more real canna enthusiasts in the commercial market pairing with quality scientists so they can pave the way to sustainable grow and safe growing I mean even with lettuce ect we constantly are hearing don't get this 1 bc it's recalled bc of e coli or salmonella ect so it's a problem across the industry.
