Grow Mediums Rain Science Grow Bags communal test thread

I use my rain science for coco (and they are amazing), however if I was going to use soil, I would start with a minimum of 3gal preferably 5
I haven’t grown with coco in a long time but I have a feeling these pots would be great for soiless. I’m finishing some DP Auto banana Blaze right now in rain science 2gals with 50/50 biobizz light mix & coco. The first pheno had a yield of 62grams but the bud had zero trichomes and zero terpenes, it was the worst auto I’ve ever grown. The second pheno I had was frosty and full of terps but only had a yield of 49grams. The third pheno i have is finishing its last day of darkness before I chop and that thing is a monster. I’m guessing it’ll be at least 70grams. Here is a link to the dairy if you’d like to check it out! https://growdiaries.com/diaries/85100-dutch-passion-auto-banana-blaze-grow-journal-by-freshcoastbudz

So when I asked about the breathability I was told that if the fabric is to breathable it will cause the sides will go hydrophobic  But I am interested to see if the rain science will work for you. I would definitely have yucca extract or sapinin on hand if you do decide to go ahead and try:goodluck:
I've started using a little yucca in every watering for my girls in every watering and it seems to help on my fabric pots.

Now I am an amateur with only seven plants in total to my credit. Well, technically six because the seventh one which was my number five didn’t thrive. That might’ve had to do with the fact that I was using the Home Depot sourced miracle grow green bag organic soil… For the third time. LOL what I will say is my last two grows have been done in a 3 gallon brain science bag with the pretty yellow trim in the little brass grommets. I would say that it works pretty darn well in the black bag miracle grow organic soil and I would say even better in the bio biz lite mix. I used my old clumped up gooey sample of make a crop on both of those grows.

I’ve used my 5 gallon off and on since it showed up a few years back... it’s in use now for my Auto seeds grow.

Be prepared for lots of watering using Rain Science Bags.....I run 24/0 and I am watering plants in 3 gallon bags DAILY.........

Great bags and all but lots of watering for sure.

Damn!

I tend to think that "lots of watering" also translates to lots of air getting to the roots, which is a good thing. I found the RainScience watering to be equivalent to using AirPots. I think the amount of water evaporating is influenced as much by what is in your medium. The more coco, perlite, hydroton, etc -- then the more watering you will do.

I definitely agree with what you’re saying

I’m watering around 2-2.5 litres every 24hr-48hr with a decent size autoflower growing in a 2gal RS bag. That’s with 50/50 lite mix and coco. Made me realize that 2 gal is probably too time consuming for me so I purchase some 3gallons for my next run. Hopefully it cuts watering down to every 3 days vs one or two.
