Radiation levels & effect on MMJ in USA/Canada.

As a patient who relies heavily on Medical Marijuana to get by day to day each and every day the latest news im hearing has me very concerned.

My concern is regarding the current radiation levels in the pacific being reported and the levels being detected in marine life all along the west coast and along other coastlines.

Most if not all nutrients and soil mixes include fish, fish meal, kelp and / or salts, minerals and other marine and sea by products in their main ingredients which are used to manufacture nutrients and soil mixes for edible crops.

Home medical growers are potentially using radioactive contaminated ingredients in feeding programs that are manufactured from ingredients sourced from the ocean. These organic nutrients and soil mixes are often also used by the companies who mass produce our seeds and organic mmj sold to the public via dispensaries across the united states.

If the fish, kelp and other materials being used in the manufacture of nutrients are contaminated by the fallout of radiation from Japan then are we not ingesting contaminated MMJ as it has potentially been cultivated with contaminated feed or soil additives???. Are we potentially introducing small levels of radiative material into our home grow rooms each time we are using these products?

Some of the cannabis seeds we buy are also produced from breeders who are situated along the effected coastlines and they are also cultivated potentially with compromised organic feed.

This a real issue for our health as the growers and breeders are likely producing radioactive contaminated seed and mmj unwittingly and we the public are snapping it up for medicine and we may be doing more harm than good without knowing.

I hear that the radioactive Cesium-137 is specially problematic as it is absorbed by most of the plants across the planet because it resembles closely to phosphorus that plants do use. When then intruduced to the body it tends to follow through to the muscle tissue, namely to the hearth and stay there.

Most of the radioactive particles are not that much of an issue IF you have a healthy body that can rid of foreign stuff from itself in matter of years before the radioactivity has a change to wreak havoc with the body and create tumors. This nuclear fallout is a new reality where we have to live in, have no way of escaping so better to consentrate on ways of having a healthy body that manages to cleanse itself from impurities such as these. We do know that it can take couple of decades to develop cancer from these so eat healthy and have plenty of physical activity that helps keep your metabolism high.

Very good thread topic, Puffman. And what about groundwater contamination from rain runoff? A friend in NorCal has said she tested some wild morels she gathered (mushrooms) and they were really high on the geiger counter. After all the crap with BP in the GoM, if we hadn't been in a motel waiting for "plane day" when Fukushima happened, I'd probably have lost it.

For sure, I won't be eating any Pacific salmon or anything else from the Pacific anytime soon. Makes me feel for friends in Hawaii.

I think the name of the game is mostly to keep your metabolism high and help body to detoxify itself as well as it would be reasonable. Diet and habits play a major role here. I think we are so far down the line by now that avoiding having radioactive particles in your body is almost impossible. They measure for background radiation but these low radiation particles doesn't affect those meters most of the time anyway.

Thankfully most of them tend to cause problems only after being in your system for a decade or two. Even all the particles from DU used in Middle East are scattered and being found all around Europe, not to mention Fukushima that by all what we know, still leaks. As I was just a child the initial Chernobyl radiationcloud just swooped by us no one giving a warning. Yet I am still alive and well.

The wildlife has thrived in the exclusion zones in or around chernobyl just amazing to see footage of it. fukishima could be the downfall of civilization in decades to come It is destroying the ocean.
