hey all, hope all is well
so glad that the site is back up and running, congrats, it's looking well sweet
i've had my tent set up for a week now and think its about time to get myself a carbon filter and fan
i've been eyeing up a few around the forty quid (limited budget) or so mark and can't decide which to choose, i'm baffled
all 4 inch fans, there is a choice of; axial flow extractor (make unknown) approx 100m/3 per hour, radial flo (black orchid) approx 100m/3 per hour & i believe a mixed flow (make unknown) approx 180m/3 per hour
can anybody recommend which type of fan is most recommended? and what the differences are?
my tent is 1m x 1m x 2m, i've got a five week old and also 2 two week olds at present, i have some ona gel on hand, but it's still a tad whiffy, and also there is a hell of alot of condensation in the tent, which i'm currently wiping down every other day
any advice is much appreciated
cheers all

forgot to mention, i'm using cfl's, so temps aren't exactly high, and i'll be using a small pc fan to draw some clean air in also

aaahhh, gotta say this wrecking my head lol
there is so many different options available and many a horror story out there on cheap fans/filters
i'd love a nice rhino pro set up yet i just can't stretch that far
a leeds based company are offering me either a 4 or 5 inch fan & filter kit for £80 all in, it's a viper filter and they reckon it's better than a rhino and exact same spec as a phat filter
has anybody ever heard/experienced these filters?
i'm getting desperate here, my first floor was buzzing yesterday when i got home after the sun came out to play
thanks

Whoa...I never thought of that!

You can splice it using a spare usb cord but the fan is limited to 4.5 watts. However, you can splice a firewire cord (a tad more expensive) for a 10watt draw and much better air flow. If you'd rather not do all that nonsense, I recommend this:

well i've bitten the bullet and spent far more than originally intended
rhino pro 100mm filter, rhino rvk fan and semi rigid ducting
gulp 150% over budget, hope i get my moneys worth

Hi. I have a smaller tent than yours with a 250w HP's in it. Use a 100mm rvk with rhino pro filter. Mine is low power fan than yours so I think you have bought the perfect set up. What are your impressions on the rhino fan. Was thinking about upgrading mine to rhino dual speed. :)

I was looking at these type a bit myself. Harder to find, but if you look around you can also find them that are built to run off straight 120v if you don't want to mess around with USB or converting to 12v. Of course, you can also get wall outlets with the USB power jacks pre-wired in them as well, so plenty of options.

yeah i bought one of amazon, around £10, it has an additional usb port for me to plug in another 6 inch usb fan i have for inside the tent, so is pretty handy and saves messing with all the wires
