Thanks squid, good looking out, here is some female karma for your grows bro. :ladies:

Thanks man. But all of mine are from feminized beans so no worries there. Again, thanks though.

Yah but feminized beans 100% female do not make.. there is always a 1 in 10 chance. so karma your way man!

Hey everyone, I have two questions if any of you fine growers could share your wisdom with me.

1. I have a 600 watt enclosed HID lighting system, and I am using the intake air to cool the light, a lot of people say I should exhaust it, but I have found my temperatures are really stable with minimum heating and cooling needed by using the intake air to cool the light and bring in fresh CO2, plus my common sense tells me that any foreign particles and molds would be killed or severely harmed after coming into the heat of the bulb and enclosure. Any opinion?

2. I had a second one, but then I got high. Doh..

oh and if anyone has any advice on any of my unanswered previous questions, please share your opinions! I love AFN!

How are you getting intake air, without exhausting?? If you are not exhausting your air, your tent, or room, would soon build up pressure, and you would not be bringing fresh air in??

You should have an exhaust fan, pulling across your light, and disposing the air outside your growing area. Then your intake would be passive, and you will not build pressure in your room.

Hi! yes sorry I forgot to mention I do have an exhaust you can see it here:

the intake is blowing on the light and the exhaust is exhausting the entire room..

is this okay or a big no no?

well, anyways, thanks for looking.. Just a few thoughts on my mind, if any of you want to share some wisdom, please and thank you.

1. What is a clear sign of a hermie? How do you really tell? Do you have to wait till it develops more?

2. Why are pots not black on the inside and white on the outside for reflection purposes?

3. Should I increase the distance between plants when they are vegging beyond a cubic foot? Some of my plants are really crowed. I am trying to find a good method for light to space ratio that allows the branches to fully extend and yet all plants receive a good amount of light.

You'll know if you have a hermie. Both male and female flowers on the same plant. Not as much of a problem now than it was 2-3 years ago. Most of the breeders have stabilized their strains to the point where they won't hermie. I've only ever had 1 and it was in a batch I was testing for autoflowering and hermies, so not unexpected.

Makes pots like that would be more expensive and most people just don't care. Personally, I don't worry about it. By the time the plant gets bigger the pot will be shaded by the plant and even if it were white, wouldn't really be reflecting much anyway.

I've got some plants going right now that got bigger and branchier than I expected. So I'm always trying to turn them so that all the buds are exposed to good light. It's always a challenge in my small grow area. If you've got the room, sure, spread them out.

Thanks Muddy, you can see in my newest grow post how crowded it is getting, I am worried about light penetration and growing these plants out but I have to accommodate the ones that are pre-flowering/flowering first. 600 watt MH should be able to handle 10 plants but the amount of light they are getting seems much sparser, I cannot keep the canopy of all the plants, stacked high enough to keep up with the tallest preflowering plant at 100 cm tall.

1. I read that I should of put my plants in a cross section to my plants in a rectangular grow, that I should have the light if it was going this way --> the plants should not be lined that way as well but should of ran ^.. Somewhat confusing so I will reword it, I have 10 plants in a 2,3,2,3 alignment that is placed rectangular parallel to the longest part of the reflector. So the plants and the light are together aligned ----------->, well I have read that I should put my plants in the opposite direction of the longest part of the reflector, so hood goes ---> and plants go ^. Any opinions on that?

2. I have read conflicting reports about when to introduce an auto to the hydro media, auto's really like to have a super long main root that shoots out fast, how long should I wait when auto's are seedlings before introduced?

3. Is it common for plants to demonstrate N deficiency after N overdose? Refer to this thread: https://www.autoflower.org/f44/need-help-please-thank-you-8105.html#post150452 for pictures.

4. Do nutes stack? what I mean is if I use a nute at 5-0-1 and double the dose, does it become 10-0-2? If i use a double dose of flora micro and bloom at 5-0-1 and 0-4-5 respectfully, do they become 10-0-2 and 0-8-10?

How long can plants go without a direct light source before they begin to suffer? My area is about to have 55 degree days and high 30's nights, so I am going to have bring my plants in for a few days, I do not have lights that I can give them to help them grow during this time however.
