Ok this was more of a accident, my autonight queen is 39 days old and well into flowering there were 2 fan leafs mid cola sticking out on each side that I just could not tuck any where and they were blocking 2 big ass nugs from getting light. I tried to tuck the one on the left side and it snapped off exposing the big nuggie to the light soooooo I look around to the other side of her and the same leaf on the other side is doing the same thing so I said to hell with it and just cut it off... I always hear that autos will stunt or die if fans are taken off. She is done stretching and you can tell she is going full flower... will she die/go into shock or something I have never cut a auto but I thought id take the chance for nuggies sake, any input would be appreciated.

I am probably the minority here but I think it will be a benefit overall. Taking a few leaves here and there I never found to hurt the plants, and if you take the right ones a reduced canopy shading of lower buds will enable them to fill out better. Had great success with selective defoliation so far!
I think the main thing with defoliation is that you have a really healthy source of nutrients, since nutrient stores(in the fans) are lost when they are pulled.

And i am just a sadist with my girls they get tons of defoliation and lollipopping and even super cropping if they think they can grow to tall.heres my 2 new girls that have had tons of defoliation and lollipopping and they just keep growing and swelling

I'm with 2Stoned2Care and 912GreenSkell....... Any leaf deemed in the way is unceremoniously removed without a second thought...... Regarding removing the fan leaves, I've seen mentioned that if the fan leaves are snipped at the end of the stalk , i.e. the stalk remains on the stem, then there is little loss of nutrients....

....perhaps someone with more knowledge can chip in....

I let them be with the occasional tuck and only remove once the leaf is yellow / dead. I think either way you can't go wrong.
