Hey guys...
Spring 2018 is upon us & i'm about to start my first 'dedicated' outdoor/greenhouse grow, in the magical land of yorkshire. Or 'up north' for anyone residing south of Lincolnshire and hope to make a journal of my journey, 'hopefully' throughout the year, as long as i dont run into to any problems with them pesky pork choppers in the sky or folk finding out & trying to help themselves. This will be my second year growing & I started around this time last year.

I'll start with the greenhouse & bed first.
it started life as just an innocent flower bed i built last year inbetween the fences at the bottom of the garden which i filled with wild flowers and such. The soil i filled the bed with was just the old decompsed shite from years of abandonment, brambles, neighbours grass clippings, leaves, just general shit....or maybe not... Then i started growing......i had a couple of bag seed which i started off (c99 i think) then found out about auotos & bought a few NYC Diesles, so i bannished the bag seed to the bed, mainly as an ornament. ........BUT...she took off like a trooper and just grew and grew and grew. (I fed her NOTHING throughout her entire life)
i built the greenhouse around her once she started to flower as i was taking her much more seriously now and knew mould would kill it all.
She started to flower around mid-late sept, and i took her down on the 5th Nov.
problem being that the weather is terrible at those times here & she didnt recieve a massive amount of light in those months either due to house rooves in all diections an a low sun....
However, this is the end result just after being chopped

she was very....very leafy, buds were airy, and i'd lost most to mould.
A nice enough smoke (ive bought worse) but a measly 5 oz from a huge plant.......
BUT.......i'd managed to grow a plant in my backyard, in the uk, in autumn, in shit weather.

So.....new year, new start n all that ...
over the winter and last year ive been filling my bed with my used indoor soil. (Probably around 400 ltr canna soiless + 50 ltr clay balls) We also had chickens which 'unforunatley' didnt make it through the bitter winter we had. So the pens gone and the shit and soil from their pen went into the bed and filled a compost bin. Ive also been using the water from my fish tank changes with added molasses to drench the bed every couple of weeks in the hope that it will encourage some life to thrive before ive even started. I covered the bed over early spring with kingspan to try and keep the soil from freezing.

So, now the weather has picked up. Ive cleaned the place up, got my seeds, and am excited to start again.
This is what ive got.
Around 4 metre square raised bed & probably 3 on the floor.
The plants you see are just cast off cheese cuts from my photo grow that didnt make the cut so they've been the guinie pigs for the soil and temps n such. They've been out since early feb. Survived cold & ice and still look fairly green. Theyll be getting binned soon as im happy with conditions now.

The first few seeds ive chosen are 2 × auto ultimate,, 2 × skunk [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG],, 1 × tangie (free seed)

Each has been placed into a 2" rockwool cube soaked in RO with a touch of rhizotonic. Then put into a tupperware wrapped in a towel for darkness and put ontop of my lighting unit for warmth.

I dont bother soaking over night or any of that just straight into the plug and so far ive done ok.
If/once they pop ill be putting the 2" cube into a 4" cube into the propagator for a week or so to get rid of the tap root & air prune the roots, until i have a bigger root system.
Ive taken this method from 'grow pot cheaply' on youtube(video is called 4" is all you need, make her explode ), its also online by Dr carl whitcomb...its mainly aimed at trees and keeping them healthy in small spaces, but the theory remains the same
I first tried this method with my last auto, a moby dick xxl.
i went from having a piffle straggly tap root with a few little roots here and there to a webbed mass in just one plant,

Check out journals on UK 420...there is a large UK guerilla scene going on there, and you could learn alot going through journals.
