How long is the family there for matea?

I wish I had off known this grow had a April 1st deadline cos I would of strongly advised us went lightson 24/7
could u hide for a few days and bring back inside when the coast is clear.

What's the situation that u have to close up the grow?

Can't you just close off that space? Put a lock on the door?
Just saying. Don't mind visitors, but they need to respect your privacy as well. Of course if it's your mother in-law, then all bets are off

The Mrs family are here for 3 days. They'll be in the house themselves for 1 night and should be away around dinner time on the 3rd day. I won't be in the house for around 2 1/2 days.

They've not been in the house before so will expect a tour of the place.

I was thinking I could wrap them all individually in black bags and stash them in the loft until they're away? Do you think that sounds feasible?

They've not been in the house before so will expect a tour of the place.

Mate you have 3 days to either move your set up to the loft or stash them for a few days up thier.
Make a diy tent out of anything u can think off even use a camping tent up there.
Its definitely doable.
Wrapping them will rott them for sure.

Does your bathroom or shower extraction ducting run through the loft?
If it does then u can take it away from the bathroom point and move the ducting to were the plants are. Could even attach a filter. Get qb board and hang above them then. Buy a lock for the loft door
I'm just throwing radom ideas at u in the hope one suits.

Maybe u could fake fall out with the missus and make things awkward lol

I'd say you could probably get away with it for a couple days. Locating a vent would be a bonus or stashing them I'm the garage or shed.

Hey @Qbgrower - you could try the big cardboard boxes you get for moving - punch a few holes in that - but the smell is going to be your enemy without a filter

No power in the shed and no windows either sadly. The plants aren't giving off lots of smell just now.

Would the plants not recover from 3 days of darkness? If I remember right from my school biology days the plants will use up the stored starches during darkness but I don't know how long that takes or if you can restore the starch when put back under light.

It's not the darkness you should be worries about, but the temperature. 5°C is cutting it really close. You could buy a small gas heater and a bottle of butane or whatever you buy locally and set it at it's lowest setting.

If there's no windows in the shed then that's one less manner for curious eyes to peak through.
Try to keep the shed above 10°C and don't water the plants before you move them.

I think they would be fine for 3 days. I've left plants in darkness for longer than that during harvest. Not by choice mind you but they were still green when I went to chop. I think it would be less stressful than cold temps.
