Hi, just joined. Posted my prep/assumptions about first grow here. I smoked between '72 and '80. Recently, a co-worker got me to smoke. I liked it and and we're going to grow in some space I have.
One thing that surprises me compared to the early '70s: Back then we'd buy a 2- (or 3-) finger "lid" for $5 or $10. You'd really have to smoke a whole joint to get pretty high. The weed would have stems, seeds, etc.
It seems like back then, they grew males and females together, let everything happen naturally, mow it all down, and the THC from leaves, seeds, buds-gone-to-seed, etc. created an average THC level which was considered normal.
It's like, since then, someone got the idea to remove the males, agonize the females, and toss all the low-THC by-product.
Cause this stuff I've smoked lately is amazingly potent! One or two hits and I'm as messed up as smoking a whole joint by myself back in the '70s.
The one thing I really like about this is that I can get really messed up and have no hangover the next morning. That's amazing. I'm used to hangovers the past 30 years.
