First off, let me just give a shout out again to Mark and @PlatinumLEDTom with Platinum LED for giving us the chance to test out these lights. I come from a HPS/MH background (and often times still finding myself going back to them every now and then,) but I truly believe LED's are the future for growing and it's a matter of sifting through the fluff to know what's a good light and what's a good value. I don't plan on sugar coating anything with this, but I do plan to give a fair, non-biased review from a guy who likes his HPS lights but is working on "getting with the future." :hump: I've grown with LED's for over a year now and feel pretty confident with the routine, so let's get on with it!

The unboxing:

First off, let's talk about shipping. The unit was shipped out FedEx and was received within days (about half the country (USA) away from the shipper.)

I know a lot of growers are worried about what's on the box and how discrete it is, so here's a few photo's of the box itself. I found it to be very discrete as far as labeling goes.

Here's the long side and bottom view:

The white box (purposely edited out) on the side is a bar code. The larger two white-out boxes on the face of the package are shipping labels:

This is the gist of what was on the label in terms of "who is this from and what is it."

And that's the box ladies and gentleman. Very discrete in my humble opinion; nothing flashy and LED could be ANYTHING these days. Go walk down your local Home Depot or Lowes and look at the LED light bulb section. And aquariums, and nerdy arduino computers and the list goes on and on. Up to the consumer of course but at least you can be prepared for what's on the package if that is a concern for you! :hump:

And now the unveiling! Foam!

I like the warranty right off the bat! Hoping I won't have to ever use it but in the event something goes wrong, it's nice to have that longevity!

Here is the actual unit itself:

Comes with a set of carabiner clips on wire (not ratchets.) Standard power cable but noticeably LONG cord. Should get a tape measure out to measure this unless @PlatinumLEDTom wants to chime in on the cord length. Would guess easily 8-10 feet long. Makes it much easier to get to an outlet!

450.... wait....450..... wtf..... a 450.... lol

Na I'm just kidding can't wait to see how it covers in that grow space @Son of Hobbes

So, ummm whatcha growing there partner

That is to be decided. Stone Dragon Black's or Blackberry Stone's most likely, have a few regs of each. Multi-pot. Just have to keep the damn cat out of the pots... they love coco coir man. I have lost some BEANS to the cat taking a dump in my pots. Close your tent, folks!

Ya I told Tom to give the 450 to SoH cause he's special, wait, did I really say that. A-Train thanks for that coverage pic of the P300.The light has a 90 degree lens so the PAR drops off a little faster as you move out from the dead center but I would rather have it like that than have it spread out with A 120 degree lens and have less par value.Have you looked inside at the heat sink it covers the entire bottom in one piece, very nice for heat transfer.
