New Grower PC Grow- Noob

Great Job UnholyFire! Sorry I missed this one... I'll be onboard for the Cobra for sure! Here's some more Karma for your garden! :wiz:

You think you're hooked now, wait till harvest time! :smoke:

I like your enthusiasm. I also like that you have been willing to listen and take the advice of the members here. There's nothing for frustrating for us than trying to help someone who won't listen. You're on your way to becoming a fine growers of autos.

Thanks for the input Trifid, and for all the complements friends. I'm hooked and there is no more dealers in the future for me. I'm already making my bean order list for after Christmas. Going to try and at least 15 or more different autos that say they finish around the 40cm mark. Then start narrowing it down to the strains I like the best. Time for some tater tots and a good movie :D

Thanks WestVirginiaRebel & Muddy. AFN is diffidently my home cuz all of you have made me feel at home with all your great and knowledgeable advice and the friendship i feel here. Yes I have learned over my years that there is always someone that has been where i'm and and they have prevailed. I've always listened to me elders and not just older ones but the ones that just plain know more than myself. If older, the same age or younger. Someone gives advice I listen. Does not always mean you have to do what they say but listen with gratitude cuz they were thoughtful enough to try and help out. I know i'll have lots to offer now and over the years to come. Again, Thanks everyone. Now time for grilled chicken, mashed potato, green beans and corn on the cob all cooked by me before the wife gets home. Mucho brownie points for me :jump::peace:

Hi friends, The girls are looking great. BH is begging to be chopped and the Cobra is putting on flower growth like crazy. Now I have a dilemma, I know its probably personal preference on how to start a seed but being I'm a noob I do not have a personal preference yet I guess. Last 3 seeds I started for this grow was 2 BH and then the 1 Cobra doing paper towel method in a sealed container on a heating pad. The first Bh pop'd and that was it. Nothing else happen. I even put it into soil but nothing. The 2nd BH is the one growing now and the Cobra did ok that way. Took them all around 5 days to pop. I was thinking about trying the seed straight into the soil method just not to sure of myself. I read all about it and all methods seem pretty ez. I want to start a seed sometime this evening (another BH) so any advice is welcome. Thanks friends :peace:

What works good for me is to put the seed(s) into a small glass(es) of plain old water and let them sit for a few hrs to soften up the shell. Once in a while lightly give it a tap so it goes under. When they sink, get em in the soil. Just very lightly covered. If they DON'T sink, I don't let them in the water/glass for longer than about 9 hrs. Don't want to drown them. This is what has worked perfect for me and what I'll continue to do.

i do a similar method but soak mine for 24hrs in water then transfer to paper towels. whatever works for you but in my area this works really well to do both together.

Thanks Noods and TshirtNinja. Advice well taken. Im going to get my soil mixed and into a pot. Been watching The Big Lebowski.

OK, I wont be ably to pick up square pots until next grow. Have to go with round pots one more time. Got a Blue Himalaya fem seed soaking in a small container of water. Here is my pot and soil setup/mix I used on the Cobra and she is growing great so I'm going to run with it again cuz its what I have :) After I mix while I'm adding soil to the pot I remove all the large matter and break up all the chunks. I very lightly sprinkle the mix into the pot carefully trying not to let the soil compact. Put a piece of plastic wrap over the pot and secured it with a rubber band so no unwanted pest intrude until I'm ready to plant the seed. :peace:

Lots of good Germ Karma coming your way!

Is this the same soil you've used for the others? It sounds like it has time released ferts. Be careful with that if you're not familiar with it. It's easy to burn your plants if you water them too much and so on. There's lots of reading to find out there on this topic.
