New Grower PC Grow- Noob

I agree, the main cola is more mature than the lower buds. I would give it a little flush and the pick the top cola and one small lower bud. Dry and test those. That will give you an idea of two different stages of growth. If you like the mature bud, let the rest of the plant go longer. If you prefer the small bud, pick the rest now.

Like what if I took the main top and let the smaller ones keep going. On the top most all of the pistols have amber'd up and receded back to the bud but the bottom ones are going strong. Or just take one of the small ones and give it a try to see if its the high I'm looking for. Good or bad? All of the major fan leaves are gone and the bud leaves are starting to die off now.

I also prefer square pots for the reasons that Trifid stated. However I find them hard to manage in my small spaces. When the plants get big I often have to adjust them so that all the lower buds are getting light. It's easier to fine tune my adjustments with round pots. I use the nursery type that have vertical indentations on the sides. These help to redirect the roots and keep them from swirling. Google "nursery pots" and you'll find them in all sizes. Here's a good source for square pots: http://www.plantlightinghydroponics.com/square-grow-pots-c-388_126.html

Wow great info. The Cobra is day 23. Home dep does not have square containers for single plants here. Only the long ones. I don't know why nor does walmart. I can check Lowes next time i'm in the city. The nearest hydro store is about 120+ miles round trip And about 50 miles round trip to the city, But i'm there every weekend visiting my daughter (10 months pregnant with my first grandson :dance2: ) If lowes does not have them I can look into ordering some before i started my next seed. The other option I have is to use some glad or rubber maid 6qt storage containers.

I like the sound of that UnholyFire.. I removed the main cola of my BHK this morning. Maturity came quickly with this one with over-night color changes.. I didn't want too much amber so i spent the afternoon cleaning the dry-space and manicuring. The drying cabinet is a stable 20 degrees celcius, humidity is kept to a minimum using a silica dessicator. These are a must for me in the summer months since i have had spores growing in there at times  but had no problems since i started using them.. Hey Durpoi i'm a huge Boards of Canada fan :D So i clearly have an appriciation for your signature..

Brilliant! i was not aware of these.. It makes a lot of sense. Perhaps they perform even better with these? Thanks

Plus they are usually inexpensive. Check nursery centers or garden shops. Sometimes they sell used ones.

I've got 2 Samaurai Jacks going that I put into some smooth sided round pots simply because they were the size I needed. I cut 4 pieces of 1/2" wide wood and put them around the sides of the pot to redirect the roots.

Nice Trifid congratz. Thanks guys for all the info. Plain water it is then. After a few days I'll clip the main cola. I have the one small bud that I took this afternoon in a brown bag laying on some shredded paper. I have not smoked in 10 days in preparation for this. :D This is so awesome :D Before I start my next seed I'm going to add one more 13w 2700k to cover the front lower of the plants so the 5"x5"x5" pots will work fantastic. If I can do something with this small dresser that I picked up the other day the pots will fit great in there also. Thanks Muddy:peace:

So, Woke up, Watered my girls (looking great). I forgot to look at my feeding log so the Cobra just got a second nute feed instead of plain water. I put about 8oz of water on her about an hour later when I read my log and realized what I did. Still just 1/4 strength so I'm sure she will be fine. Took a small few snips off the BH nug and loaded it up. Got a good rip off a little one hitter and WOW! Not a lot of taste but I'm there :booya: Been outside for the last 40 mins doing stuff and now I'm so laid back and relaxed. Back and neck pain at such a minimum. Feels so nice. Can't wait to see how she is after the flush, chop, and cure.
