Also in my continual searching, I found quite a few sites stating that opium increases in value as it's stored. I personally have never had the excess to store for any long period of time, has anyone else experienced this phenomenon firsthand? Almost as if it benefits from a cure just like marijuana...

I am but a novice myself brotha man...learning hopefully daily. Very good report, thanx for the research man!

It is truly a pleasure, expecting more blooms tomorrow or the next day...

Well got two more blooms what I thought at first was a white afghan, (turns out it's a stunted gigantheum)

Also have a real hens and chicks that bloomed overnight as well, hopefully you can see them in the pic; you'll see the little chicks around the main pod, (yellow/greenish and kinda shiny compared to the powdery whitish stamens, also has the typical type of pink that goes along with the strain...

Just more proof that the One Stop Poppy Shoppe is true to their word about giving you what you paid for!

So it turns out that the white one was a Gigantheum not a White Afghan... It was just so stunted I thought it couldn't be a giant but the only other white I had was the afghan... Might be crazy how much it swells from this point on, bout 17 days and I'll be testing it... :D

I've ordered from the one stop poppy shoppe 2 times since you turned us on to them...

I can't get any up for indoors because it's so hot but I will be sowing Guganteum and Persian White in September...
My grandmother grow mine for me in her garden, Theres lots of different little plots all around her property...

She's let me lance them for a good 3 or 4 years and since she started breeding her own on the side they are getting more potent every year...

Her crosses came from planting Gigantem and White Persian and Pepperbox and Blue Persian mixed all togather in one big plot...
She only keeps one plot with the crossed plants in them...

I don't have any other flowers or bushes in my yard so just Poppies growing everywhere may raise some flags...

It's nice having them around, Some of them have been flowering since May and are still putting out buds most likely will be till September...

Thanks Surffreak23...

Lovely plants:clap:

Well I am getting lucky as hell with the progression of blooms, each one is a different strain and the only one that hasn't shown up yet is the white afghan...

The first Hens and chicks second day of flowering, (can't believe it lasted another day with petals) DSCN1184.jpg
Here is the first Pepperbox to show itself...DSCN1186.jpgDSCN1188.jpg

I'm 4 out of 5 on the types that have shown, cross your fingers that I get some white afghans...

Well guess were into full bloom mode now because there are at least a few more daily... Just got a very nice hens and chicks: (Lots of chicks)

yesterdays H&CDSCN1189.jpg

Also found what I think is a gigantheum but also has some little chicks around it, wonder if it's just the recessive trait they went after when creating hens and chicks...DSCN1194.jpg

Also a smaller white flower that could be a white afghan but has the purple cross of a gigantheum, so I'm not sure, could just be bread seed from the spice rack... (Accidentally knocked a petal off...)

Hey brotha, lookin good. Was wondering if you ever thought bout growing in pots just so they were mobile. Then you could bring them in the touse for cutting & scrapping &nobody would see. Just thinkin high man...hehe

That's a great idea, but the problem with pots is that poppy roots like lateral growth (one of many reasons it's hard to grow inside in conventional setups), so a wider than deep container is best but I have yet to find a good STURDY tray of the right dimensions that would work for a few large poppy plants... You could use the giant pots but the whole volume of it would most likely not be used efficiently and it would be a lot of extra weight to lug around. (hard for me with chronic knee nerve pain) All this is not to mention that while poppies do not like being transplanted while growing, they handle it quite well when established so if you were so inclined, you could dig them up witha shovel carefully and throw them in a tub and bring em in for the few days it takes to harvest... you can also prolong the life of the plants by bringing them in and putting them under 16/8 under a FLOWERING bulb... I have heard stories of people keeping an annual variety alive for years inside...

Even if I could bring them indoors, that looks bad to a cop for sure and I'm expecting at least one visit to check on my outdoor marijuana crop to make sure I'm following the law. If I just have a patch of unharvested flowers they probably won't think twice, if they do, the amount is so small I doubt there would be any real trouble...
