Lighting p300 new grower and new setup

Hi Growers, I am new to growing and new to the forum. My Dad and I have been interested in growing since it became legal in our State years ago. We finally got our hands on some seeds last summer and tried growing a few plants in his home greenhouse. We had mixed results so we decided to get more serious. After much research we decided to grow 12 plants in his greenhouse with a Diamond 300W and in a grow tent with a Platinum p300. I thought I would share our experiences so far. Today my tent arrived so we got the plants moved in and set up. We dont have feminized seeds so thats why we started with so many plants. Here are some pics of my setup in the tent. I will post some of his pics when I get them. My plants are around 3 weeks old but have only been under this light for 4 days so far. Any suggestions are appreciated

Welcome to AFN!... What size is that tent? . As ripper asked, what are you doing for air exchange?. Since you are in a legal state, you might want to double check ordinance about odor, with 12 plants running, its going to produce a good amount of aroma, unless you guys dont mind the whole house smelling..lol What nutrients you running?, and what medium are you using? If you have any questions, dont hesitate to ask.If you want a quick answer, or just hang out and BS.head over to the Live Stoner thread...lots of people here with endless knowledge that will make you a better, smarter grower...it has me.!

Welcome to AFN!

You're in a legal state, but the odor can alert thieves or bother neighbors.

I would go get a can filter and exhaust fan as soon as I could.
You can nearly eliminate odor that way. Plus, it provides some of your fresh air intake when the exhaust is pulled out.

If you can afford it get a better exhaust fan- quiet and with the ability to adjust the speed.
I went cheap on my fan and I tolerate a lot of noise. Hopefully when I replace my filter I will be able to afford a better fan.

How many watts does your lamp draw?

We always recommend starting high and working your way lower. That P300 should give you 3'x2' coverage during flowering at about 18" from the plant canopy. Please let us know if you have any questions along the way! Thanks for sharing and happy growing!

Thank you I currently have 2 vents open in the tent and the LED light is keeping the tent between 68 at night and 77 during the day. The tent is surprisingly stable with temp and humidity.

I have the light set at 24" above the tops of my plants. No burn at all on the leaves. We also repotted them yesterday in 3-4 gallon air pots in a Colorado brand of Coco and perlite called Moonshine. Everyone at my local grow shop raved about it. Its a 3x3 grow tent FILLED with the rapidly growing plants. The largest plants grew 3+" in a week. I am using FoxFarms Grow Big feeding them 2x a week. I dont know if the feeding schedule on the label is best for my plants... it seems really diluted... I have so many plants because we dont know which are ladies yet.... The P300 is drawing around 185W.... yesterday I switched the VEG and BLOOM on since the black pots are absorbing a lot of light.

I dont have an odor yet but we are planning on using a carbon canister and fan then vent directly outside.... Its currently 5 degrees outside so we havent been too concerned with venting yet.
