New Grower OS Purple Haze & BCN CriticalXXL COB LED Organic Grow

Day 48

They’re still alive!! This makes me happy at the very least! They’ve clearly had some serious struggles and have been quite drastically stunted. But, on a lighter note, they smell delicious, buds are getting thicker and trichs are forming :)
Yellowing, blotchiness, spots, crispy leaves and curling leaf points abundant. Something had to be done...
3 days ago I flushed them with around 30 litres plain water each (ph’d to 7). Took my time and then let them drain out for about an hour. Then fed them flower feed. 1/2 strength Flores, 1/4 strength boost and 1ml mammoth p in 4 litres at an ec of 1.0. Gave them 2 litres each. I’m now 3 days on and they seem to be growing, albeit at a very slow rate, again. Day 39-43 there was absolutely no vertical growth. The last few days the critical has grown two centimetres and the haze 3cm. No additional growth on the haze, not putting out any new branches, but the critical is trying and some are starting to make their way to the top. As I said, super slow but at least somethings happening.

Haze
The yellowing and spotiness seems to be progressing, she’s definitely still not very happy, but buds are carrying on with development. Few leaves pulled off today.

Critical
Yellowing hasn’t got too much worse, not like on the haze but did remove some leaves. She’s pretty dense, hard to get fingers in for inspecting. The tips of a lot of her leaves are actually showing a tinge of purple, I’m sure this is signs of another problem, but I’m just keen on keeping them alive till the finish now. She was showing some signs of light taco’ing so raised the lights (about 60cm above now). She seems real sensitive to the light!

Cheers!!

Day 57!

Been 10 days since the last post, rather manic my end work wise so time is flying. Girls had a feed 6 days ago, been waiting to see to feed them or water them and boy did they look hungry this morning. Woke up to find them SO yellow, definitely not good! A day too late...

Made up 6 litres of nute mix...
1/2 strength Flores
1/4 strength boost
Ph came down to 5.5, raised it to 6.1
Ec 1.0

Run off
Haze: ec 1.3 ph 6.4
Critical: ec 1.2 ph6.4

Critical
Two days ago I found more pollen sack/bananas, about 7/8 in total all very low on the plant, removed them all. At this late stage I’m just keeping her in. Think these girls will finish up pretty soon as they’ve been severely abused!

Haze
She’s been yellow for a while, but again over night it’s much worse.

So they’re small and sickly, but smell gorgeous. Gonna get a bit of smoke of them as long as they haven’t been pollinated. I feel like harvest is right around the corner!

Everything started going a little downhill from here, or I should say the downhill ride got steeper!
The yellowing just got progressively worse, with leaf edges dying and shriveling up. To top it all of, the hermie did his/her work and pollinated both plants.
Minimal seed sites, but took the risk so biting the bullet. Not upset though, the grow was somewhat of a failure with many mistakes being made, so have learnt a lot and have plenty to take away from the grow.
I made the decision to turn the lights off last night, the buds were well on their way before being pollinated, so hopefully I'll still get something to smoke.
Going to leave them in the dark for 24hours before I chop em down. Will dry em in a big cardboard box, with my tent intake pulling through. Will get started on the next grow ASAP.
Just to note, my big takeaways after this grow....
Dont bother with CFLS! They did help initially with keeping the temps up, but after putting in a ceramic fan heater, there was no need for them. My cobs n Leds are more than enough. Took quite a while for me to absolutely dial in my climate, which still wasn't perfect. But all the changes couldnt of done any favours.
Packed my mix way too lightly, so everything sunk right down into the pot, had to fold over the lip of my fabric pots twice.
PH... now this is a big one! I was ph'ing my water before adding my nute mix!! Crazy, i know. For the majority of the grow, at least 2/3rds, I was probably feeding them at around 5-5.5ph which is just way too low for soil. I reckon this is what hurt the most.
EC... bought an ec pen later in the grow too. Found the cal mag I was adding every feed was doubling the ec of my mix! Next grow Im going to try and base my feeding schedule off EC, working my way incrementally higher.
Feeding & watering, too inconsistent on this one. I need to keep a separate calendar for my feeding regime.

There were more issues that arent worth noting, but still add to the value of knowledge to take away.

It was a whole lot of emotions! Found myself disheartened at times but as I have time for a second grow, I've taken all my failings on the chin. Learnt a lot and have a whole lot of you to thank.
So... Thanks to everyone who gave their input and support, it really is truly appreciated!!
I'll post up some picks of the trimmed plants soon :)

Thanks! Happy tokin

sorry things didn't turn out quite as you'd hoped dude. you've got some smoke to keep you going for now, and what you've got looks good to me!

good to see you have identified some mistakes, makes for an easy fix on the next run.

tag me once you're up and running on the next girls - is it soon?
