Everything started going a little downhill from here, or I should say the downhill ride got steeper!
The yellowing just got progressively worse, with leaf edges dying and shriveling up. To top it all of, the hermie did his/her work and pollinated both plants.
Minimal seed sites, but took the risk so biting the bullet. Not upset though, the grow was somewhat of a failure with many mistakes being made, so have learnt a lot and have plenty to take away from the grow.
I made the decision to turn the lights off last night, the buds were well on their way before being pollinated, so hopefully I'll still get something to smoke.
Going to leave them in the dark for 24hours before I chop em down. Will dry em in a big cardboard box, with my tent intake pulling through. Will get started on the next grow ASAP.
Just to note, my big takeaways after this grow....
Dont bother with CFLS! They did help initially with keeping the temps up, but after putting in a ceramic fan heater, there was no need for them. My cobs n Leds are more than enough. Took quite a while for me to absolutely dial in my climate, which still wasn't perfect. But all the changes couldnt of done any favours.
Packed my mix way too lightly, so everything sunk right down into the pot, had to fold over the lip of my fabric pots twice.
PH... now this is a big one! I was ph'ing my water before adding my nute mix!! Crazy, i know. For the majority of the grow, at least 2/3rds, I was probably feeding them at around 5-5.5ph which is just way too low for soil. I reckon this is what hurt the most.
EC... bought an ec pen later in the grow too. Found the cal mag I was adding every feed was doubling the ec of my mix! Next grow Im going to try and base my feeding schedule off EC, working my way incrementally higher.
Feeding & watering, too inconsistent on this one. I need to keep a separate calendar for my feeding regime.
There were more issues that arent worth noting, but still add to the value of knowledge to take away.
It was a whole lot of emotions! Found myself disheartened at times but as I have time for a second grow, I've taken all my failings on the chin. Learnt a lot and have a whole lot of you to thank.
So... Thanks to everyone who gave their input and support, it really is truly appreciated!!
I'll post up some picks of the trimmed plants soon
Thanks! Happy tokin
