Dinafem Orange Juice, Purps #1, Cheese CBD, Dinamed Plus Ebb and Flow Rockwool SOG (Animatey)

Got it, and it makes sense of what I was seeing.

Having to top feed to waste makes things more complicated for sure...

No wonder you switched to drip lol...

Here is my plan:

Instead of flooding every day once I will:

-Top feed to waste today at 1.2 EC
-Top feed to waste tomorrow and Sunday at 1.5 EC
- Top feed to waste Monday at 1.8
- Start flooding again on Tuesday with 1.5-1.8
- Before my weekly rez change I will top feed with fresh feed to wastr and then dump the rez and change it

Is that too aggressive?

Thanks again for steering me straight on this...
You can do that but I think you are doing more than you need to?

Top feed to waste today at 1.2 EC
Fill the res with new at 1.5 and flood daily for a week starting tomorrow. Then pumping out of the res top flush letting it run back into the res.
Now change the res to 1.5 - 1.8 flood daily for a week. Then pumping out of the res top flush letting it run back into the res.
Now change the res to 1.5 - 1.8 flood daily for a week. Then pumping out of the res top flush letting it run back into the res.
Now change the res to 1.5 - 1.8 flood daily for a week. Then pumping out of the res top flush letting it run back into the res.
Get the idea?

Perfect. That's what I'll do, thanks MOG!

Last night I wasn't thinking 100% clearly, not sure why I was going to do the extra top feeds.

After doing the feed to waste this morning, I am definitely going to try and minimize the amount of times I have to do that... Quite a bit of work for 8 cubes.

Here we are at day 39 of 12/12.

The black mold on the bottom of the Dinamed that @RivetGrrl made me eat has not yet negatively impacted her, but after consuming I have made about 100 trips to the bathroom per hour (give or take) :crying:

I removed what mold I could by hand and then soaked the bottom inch of the cube in diluted H202 for 30 minutes, twice (once a day).

Then I added microbes to the rez (microbe brew by Fox Farms is what the local hydro shop had), and she seems OK.

You can see the spots on her leaves from what is possibly underfeeding, or the mold.

I think I got that sorted out now thanks to RG and MOG, we will see how this goes.

The Dinamed is probably the 2nd most interesting plant in the tent so far. She has great open structure, but not too leggy.

The first is this orange juice that wont stop stretching.... She has caused me to raise the lights more than intended and I'm having to get creative raising them...

You can see her in the top right corner here, towering above the other 7:

She looks nice and smells great..

I have 4, 6 inch fans in the space for air movement. I packed the tent so full that I'm worried about mold etc. and I don't wanna risk a catastrophe.

Smells have started getting strong. The room smells like skunk and cracked pepper.

The Cheese smell like sweet musky barn animals and also floral, like you are smelling flowers at a rodeo.
The Purps smell like straight blueberry 100%, like you just put a handful of blueberries in your mouth and squished them all at once.
The Dinamed has a deep flowery smell that is so full it's almost like an earthy smell, but sorta dank flowers... hard to explain.

The OJ though... she smells like Oranges, Sunscreen, Cream, Peaches and some other hard to define smells... Really complex smell, I'm excited to see how she finishes up.

So hopefully the mold issue doesn't get out of hand on the rockwool, and also the springtails have not been seen at all in my house for about 4 days now... They haven't made it into my grow room.

Let's see if I can finish these last 4-6 weeks without messing it up too much...

Thanks for stopping by, and good luck in your gardens!

Are you kidding me! You actually ate some mold? There are molds that can kill you!

I don't think that was mold but maybe? Flushing with H²O² is a last resort measure and probably did more harm than good.

What your showing is "P" deficiency.

I didn't eat it @Mañ'O'Green, just a joke started by RG, LOL. I'm a little dumb, but not quite that dumb hahahaha

I'm pretty certain it's mold, it really smells like mold.

I didn't flush with H202, just soaked the bottom of the cube where the mold was with a mild solution (3% H2O2 @ 30ml per gal of water).

The cube didn't soak up much, and I only soaked the bottom inch. I added bennies immediately after.

Great looking plants man. You got a tent full of dank there. Huge stalks dude. Well done
Thanks man! Not sure how well this will finish up... I often mess up pretty bad between now and the end but I am gonna try to keep it together this time... Only time will tell if I can finish this photoperiod marathon [emoji16]

I made sure to add the disclaimer after I joked about tasting the mold, I've been on social media long enough that I actually could probably get a few people to eat mold.... :nono: :face:

I would avoid using H2O2 in the future, I used it a few times and hated it. Add the beneficial stuff again three days after that dip tho as they may have been killed by the lingering H2O2.

Just keep feeding as MoG suggested as well, and let the beneficials grow :smoking:

Gals look really good tho!

Inhaling it is not good either. I am glad you were just messin' with RG.

What you are smelling may just be normal. I know my cubes are earthy swampy smelling but not sour. I would top water for a few days so you are running the live microbes down into the sterilized part instead of moving the dead ones up.

There are a lot of molds we eat all of the time especially on some cheeses.

Thanks guys!

I definitely plan on running bennies for the remainder of the grow. Hydroguard should arrive today. When I top up the rez, I'll be topping up with water and hydroguard. When I redo the rez each week, I'll add the microbe brew by fox farms.

I know what you mean about the smell MOG, they always have sort of a swampy smell to them, but this one cube seemed to have a lot more than the others so the black stuff worried me.

She was stuck in the corner for the majority of the grow, so I'm not sure if she didn't have maybe a corner of less drainage than everyone else.

I wont use anymore H2O2. I thought a general guideline for moving forward with root disease was to remove it physically as much as possible, then sterilize it some (can't kill all of it) and then add the beneficials to stop if from bouncing back to full strength.

Either way, I'll take your guys advice and just stick to the Hydroguard/etc. from here on out :) !
