Hell of a nice looking plant texasboy26. I still think you wax and polish the leaves for the photo shoot. I know how older woman are.

Never shined a leaf in my life.

Got involved with Canna Coco and Nutes this season and they produce positively unreal vege. I look at it. Marvel at it. Dont Believe it myself. Like those Dutch Hothouse Tomatoes you see in the market. The leaves are too green. But the buds are heavenly. I aint gonna change a thing.

Got the age right and the gender wrong.

Muddy!!

I like to pick samples along the way, usually a week apart to see where it's at.
:D
I consider Marijuana Botany a must read for any grower. I always learn something new with every reading.
:peace:
Just what Im trying to do.a 3 versions of Barneys Little Cheese about a week apart or so. This time it seems to be Early, On time and Late.

The Book is a long but good read. Good thing he never tried any pop books. Booorr. Thanks alot.

As the plants start to finish up they draw the energy from the fan leaves, causing them to yellow and die. That energy goes pretty much exclusively into bud growth. IMO if you pick before those leaves have died off you're missing out on that final growth spurt.

Thats what I figured.
Stored energy in the fan leaves. Hmm. I been hearin a lot about that...
Thanks:bong:

Day 84

Shes still alive, looking old and weary.

The smoke is incredible. Smells good. Lotsa crystals. Red threads. :booya:

This is what she looks like front and back, unadorned, still plenty of green :D

Holding off :help:

She passes your first test but still aint yellowed

Awaiting your word, muddy :peace:

Don't know what to say, even if it was a 14 week strain like some of the new hazes I'd expect to see yellowing leaves by now. Really up to you at this point, if you're satisfied that it's not growing anymore then chop it. Just when I think I've got these little girls figured they throw another curve.

Day 85

Borrowed a camera with a better closeup. Thought you oughta see but what you really need to see is the trichomes themselves but this camera aint that good.

Found a really good way to see the trichomes though its probably old hat to you. Instead of wrassling with the 3D buds, I clipped off one of the small leafs from the cola. Then put the leaf down flat and view the trichomes cum crystals with ease and clarity. Its a great big circus down there.

I can see the evolution of the trichomes. The clear somehow still dominate with the cloudy taking over in places and still losing in others. The amber are but minor players. Large, dark red threads still worm their way through but theyre not the trichomes. They do add color to the buds when they are dried

Problem is the trichomes are falling on the really large leafs as you may be able to see in the pic of the leaf. Thats too much. But ...

The dried trichomes look like crystals in the final buds which drive people crazy. The dried trichomes retain their shape. :hot:

Bare evidence of yellow but Im still watchin ... and waitin ... :jump:

Dont feel right to chop yet.
Can only hope Im not late.
Will see :toke:

Wind Up

Its over.

Harvested my first Barney's Farm Little Cheese Autoflower (Actually #3) on November 5, 2011. A bit immature. Dry weight over 40 grams. About 15" tall. Smoothest smoke I ever tried but the high lacked the intensity I am used to. The buds lacked the crystals and red threads I am would have liked but it had to be chopped it was already on day 73 and there were 2 Sour 60s waiting for their day in the sun. It was good enough to smoke and soon disappeared.

Harvested the 2nd Little Cheese (Actually #1) on Nov 12. The trichomes appeared somewhat cloudy and just as confusing. No yellow leaves but the Auto had gone 80 days and it seemed about time. 17" tall. Largest kola 630 grams wet. Red threads and crystals increased to acceptable levels after curing for 2 days. Smoke was Heavenly. Dry weight 50 grams.

Harvested my last Little Cheese (Actually #2) on Nov 18 at the ripe old age of 86 days despite the fact that it refused to show the yellowed leaves Muddy mentioned. Muddy was a great advisor here and deserves a nod for that. Anyway, The buds were gorgeous and worth the wait that Muddy advised. Smoke was incredible, higher than heavenly. And Gorgeous. Plenty of colors, threads, crystals (dry trichomes). Harvest still drying, no idea of the yield but it looks about 35-40. Wow whatta smoke.

Thanks muddy.

Thanks y'all.
