Indoor Oldest problem in the World

I find a good flush with clearex seems to really kick up the finishing time and the yellowing of the leaves really starts to take place then. It seems to help them finish more properly to me as far as getting the plant to start eating the leaves and get the tricombs to really cloud up. I dont typically wait around for the amber as sometimes that can take weeks on some species after the plant is actually done in my opinon.

Holy Cow

Youre probably Rite Scott

Thought I should tell yall.

Everybodys doing well (pic 1)

Followed most best comments to wait it out. Replied directly to a nube who suggested 12/12 then negated it as I did emphatically.

Couple days later the girls reward me with wiggly callyxes and brown hairs. Not a lot but a considerable amount. So I figured the beginning of the end. All comes to he who waits. Hooray.

Next couple of days, they stall. Nothing.

Then, New Colas (pic Bud 1-4) with bright new Callyxes appear out of nowhere. Everywhere. Suddenly the tall Cola on the tall middle bush is 2 Colas and the 2nd just looks younger than the 1st.
So I Do everything I can think of. Starvation. Thirst. Heat. Nothing.
The only thing left was 12/12 to confuse the hell out of them.
(Apologies to the nubie who perhaps had the right idea in the first place.)
They been on 12/12 for 3 nites now.

And finally the response I was waiting for.
Mottled leaves. Yellowed leaves underneath. (2nd pic) Browned, wiggled Callyxes. Fat Buds. But clear Trichromes. So I took off a line of buds that werent quite right. Let em sit out for 2 days and they were as dry as a week of enclosed, inverted drying. (no microwaves here). And I tried em. HOLY SHIT! Immature, dried improperly, uncured, etc., IT KNOCKED ME ON MY ASS! I COULDNT SEE.

(will post wiggly, brown callyxes tomw.)

Well my 2 cents are the oldest problem is inacurate finishing time by breeders and the starving lst thirst and 12/12 will just delay the crop further as your not providing what the plant needs to finish as quick as possible this why hydroponics plants finish up to a week earlier than soil.
Provide the plant with what it needs and they will finish for you

Cloudy Trichomes: Day 73

Yep theyre cloudy all right, this ayem.

Checked it with a Panasonic 30X that Ive had for 20 years. Never had so much trouble as finding good undamaged trichomes, keepin the eyepiece steady, focusin, just seein them. Have seen hundreds of pictures but never saw them until today. Lovely. Clearly Cloudy (if thats not an oxymoron ...) :toke:

But they are there. No amber trichomes yet. Still got time.

What exactly do I do now?

Wait for the others?
Cheese 2 shows mixed clear and Cloudy

Not all autos show amber trics and when they do, it's often not until 11 or 12 weeks. Personally I wait until all the primary and secondary fan leaves have yellowed and died off and the bud leaves are turning yellow. By that time all the trics will be cloudy. Judging from your pics from 2 days ago, I'd give them another week or so.

Ag been following your posts and like what you got to say.

In this case, I agree with you completely but I dont know what they need.

Hmm. I dont know but youre usually right, Muddy.

Had to chop th first to free up room and get the nextGen on its way. Theyre back on my schedule 18/6. Theyre Sour 60s and theyre anxious. Well see. Biggest cola on the smallest plant weighed in at 639 grams wet. Waiting patiently on the 2 remaining plants.:booya:

Amber trics has been the topic of discussion several times over the past couple months. Some of the guys were looking at their trics under PC scopes and did find some, but to the naked eye there didn't appear to be any. I just picked some auto Pineapplegum and Jack Matics yesterday, a day short of 12 weeks. I can see some amber on them but probably less than 2% and only on the bud tops. It also seems to depend on what kind of light you're using. They turn amber to protect the THC from UV light, and some light sources, like LEDs, may have little or no UV. I find the leaf method to be more reliable, plus as long as you've got green fan leaves the plants are still growing. Pick them too soon and you lose out on some final bud growth.

Thanks texas, I mean hit them with water some veg 1/4 strength nutes and lights to give them energy to finish. Also bare in mind not all strains fan leafs yellow either so it could be a catch 22
Another method is waiting until 90% of the pistols turn brown.
My guess is this no amber trichs, greenish fan leafs and mostly white pistols all these point to an unripe plant i think shes just a bit stunted but with a bit of tlc will finish for you

1. Watered them. Cut their nutes down to practically zero. Lowered the HPS as far as possible (very little). Fan leafs only slightly variously yellowing.

2. None of the pistils are brown (I think) There are only long brown threads snaking their way thru the trichomes. (At least that is what I have been seeing)
:bong:
3. I am not sure why you see them as unripe plants and stunted. I am intrigued by this new line of thought. They were stressed out by a lack of water and love in their second week for 4 days when I was in the hospital. They were transplanted, watered copiously, moved from CFL to HPS and then reached their own maturity and exploded in growth. And they were beautiful: thick leaves glossy that almost looked shined (according to one member of this group). Everyone marveled at them - they were the picture of health. They were covered with colas. They were 17-19 in. tall.

I chopped one to free up some room and dried and tested the weed. The smoke is good not great. (will post). The trichs seemed cloudy on that 1st plant but Im not sure now. The trichs on the remaining 2 are confusing at best. Im seeing mixed clear and cloudy but that could be my eyes or the focusing or my inability after 20 years to use this 30X.

Anyway, who knows.

2 remain and have started to look anything but beautiful. Its day 76.

Will continue ..:toke:
