Nutrient lockout

Thanks, I’ll have to try and get my head round that, just ordered on from Amazon it’s coming tomorrow. I’ll report back with reading next water which will be tomorrow or next day. Think I should do 2ml per litre of the Dutch Pro as was going to come off the 3ml around now anyway. So if the run off ppm is crazy high as you say (the plants wick’d all the run off up to last water) I can give them all 5 litres whic should give me about 1500ml of run off per plant. Will doing that bring it down?
It's hard to say. It's based on math. If your ppms are at say 3000 right now. You will want to use water that is as close to zero as possible (RO water has zero ppms).. That way when you add the zero ppm water, the 3000 number starts to drop pretty quickly. Remember, nutrient lock out happens when there is too much nutrient in the soil.. If this is true, you don't need to add anymore nutrients, as there is already to much in the soil. So right now, the next step is to check the ppms of some run off water.. If it's crazy high, then plain water, no nutrients.. If it's almost in range, then use some Dutch pro at half strength. You still have a little bit of trouble shooting to do before we can say for sure what it is and what needs to be done! Almost there though. In have a feeling your next grow you will knock it out of the park!

Bi carb
Hi all

can I use bi carb to lower my ph, or I’ve got some hydrogen sulphate? My de gassed water is nearly 8!

If I remember correctly.. Bi carb raises the ph.. Critic things like Lemon juice, cider, vinegar will lower it. Use light amounts and keep the meter in the water as you add to it. That way you can control the levels easier.

Right I’m done, you would of been proud of me Proff! I found some citric acid I use for cleaning my beer making kit and got PH near perfect I used only 1ml p/litre of Dutch Pro and gave them 5 litres (normally 4) to get a lot of runoff, I measured each plant and was surprised at the difference between them. The plant at the back in the middle is the one that went yellow and it’s runoff was only 973. What do you make of my results (see pic)?

AWESOME JOB! Im actually surprised by those run off numbers! That's pretty much in range! Couple of questions for ya... Are these plants all in one bed, or are they each in separate pots? And the results you posted, was that from just one plant and one pot? If so, you might want to do that same process with one of your worst looking plants and compare the numbers.

Thanks! There are 10 plants, all in their own fabric pots sat on bricks which are sat in trays. If you look at the picture that is a layout map with the runoff result of each plant written in each circle. Each plant had its own result recorded before I wet vacuumed the runoff out. Having seen the results do you think I should of used more nutes or will that be ok until next water? I’ll have to start flushing soon anyway.

Nice! Lol, I would have never guessed that! So in that case.. I would keep flushing those really high ppm pots.. Get them all in the 800 range.. Then slowly start dropping it lower until you are as low as your water will allow when you're on the last few days before harvest. That ppm number is giving you an idea of how much nutrient is already in the soil. All those pots have more than enough to get them through without adding anymore. They look to only have a couple of weeks left, so you should be ok with out feeding.

If your run off ppm is say 800 today, and you check again 2 days later, it should be less than 800 as the plant uses up the nutrients. This late in the grow, if the ppm number isn't changing, or the pots are taking a longer time to dry out, that is a that the plant has stopped or slowed down its feeding and is near the end of life.. But as you can see, a few of your pots are way out of ppm range.

My problem is I can’t seem to tell where my trichromes are at. I had the same problem on the other to grows I did. I have a jewellers loup with led light on it. I can’t tell if they are cloudy or clear and I have never spotted an amber one to date! Some of those buds are looking ripe and the pistols are all orange. Others are still mostly white. Maybe I should buy another magnifying device.

What strength is it? 30x, 50x? Worst case, you can always you a regulate magnifying glass it it's cheaper or if it magnifies better than the jewellers loupe. My loupe is 50x

40x I think, I just had a real good look this morning and I’m fairly sure I’m seeing cloudy but deff no amber. Update on the PPM’s after I saw you say 900 it was too late but it played on my mind so 0630 I was out there giving the 3 high PPM plants 2lt of plain water at 5.8PH PPM was 240. Runoff was 1630 (-150) 1610 (-150) and 1390 (-300)
Since I was feeling scientific I checked the PPM of the water from the dehumidifier and it was 2PPM! also the PH was almost bang on 7. I tipped it into one of the big buckets instead of down the drain like I normally do, thought if I had used this I might of got PPM down a few more points. I was a bit disappointed about how much the runoff dropped, was hoping for more.
