Whats shakken everybody" I need to make some sort of door for my grow closet & am stumped as what to build ... I plan to run a good carbon filter inside but also wanted to trap as much of the smell/noise inside as I could. Though looks are not high on the list I also dont want a tarp on velcro either..

My closet it 4Wx 2D x8 H - I have 2 rows of 4 -5 gallon buckets on the floor - Mylar overall-

A conventional door with some weather stripping would work well to contain the smell. Or on the cheaper side, you could make some kind of zippered doorway...

I'd just go with the door :toke:

I agree with afrotec that a conventional door seems like the way to go if you can fit one in your opening. If you have one nearby, I recommend checking out a Habitat for Humanity ReStore to save a few bucks and help a good cause: http://www.habitat.org/restores/

If a regular door won't work and you need to go custom, you could make one out of plywood (the thicker the better) and add some foam sheathing to the inside for extra insulation:

I'll help with the noise and give you a nice smooth surface to paint or attach your mylar to.

I actually know a guy who built a whole grow space out of nothing but the foam sheathing, including the door.

There's two habitat for humanity near me - there's one a couple miles that's overpriced as shit (it's down town) and there's one about 20 minutes out in the sticks. The one 20 minutes out in the sticks is a treasure mine I swear to god. I got a beautiful 80" round hardwood table w/ gorgeously cut pedetal for 50 bucks. It had a couple dings in it, but the construction of the table is amazing. The thing weighs almost 200 lbs attached to the pedestal.

I've also got a couple of magnetic ballasts for $3 from them (2 worked, one was scrap) that I cleaned up and resold for $50 (needed to pay for my LEDs!). They've also had hanging light fixtures that I've bought and tried to implement (they sit on my porch at the moment unfortunately) and tons of other goodies. I'm going there Monday to try to pick up a cab I can turn into a micro grow cab.

as Afrotec said I would use a regular door with weather striping. A plus would be to get ONA gel and place it outside the grow near the exhaust. And if your really paranoid you can place some in room of the house and wont smell a thing. just my 2 cents
