Newbie question on starting seeds off

Yep, germination pad, seedling mat, heating mat, all the same thing just who you're talking to haha. They work amazing, I highly recommend, although that means a transplant of some sort.
I actually got my light and mat at a local hardware/garden store a few years ago, but yes I would suggest amazon, lots of little lights for cheap on there, I'm sure someone may have a suggestion
I tried out a humidity dome as well, just from the dollar store, lots of people swear by them, not for me, i tend to over water my seeds anyway, without holding all the moisture in too haha

Ok , Here we go . With the out door temps you will have you will have to put shade cloth over them come Nov -Dec I would recommended no less than 25 % . also feed every time with silica it will help a lot . moisture level will be a issue with the soil . To wet and you will cook your roots , very important to keep a eye on this . , Dec - as your plant are finishing you can get around 36 c with the strains you are growing at these temps you will lose yield . also the nutrient requirements change as the soil temp goes up
The bigger the pot , lets say 27 liter the plants will be more happy -- Humidity -- mean 51 % is not a issue , What that tells me it is dry . It is the heat you will have to deal with . Wind speed is another factor , it has a drying affect too if you are open to the wind . .

Thanks Hecno, but how do I feed them silica? Where do I get hold of some? It's the stuff you get in bottles of tablets to keep 'em from getting damp right?

@tracyd here in Australia we have as good if not better nutrients in bottles than overseas . Silica comes in 250 ml bottle and bigger you use it -- [ point 2 of a ml per liter . ]

just a thought here, but diatomaceous earth is 87% silica, but the flipside is that it'll also raize the ph of the soil, so... again, jus a thought ;) ppp

Mine go straight into the greenhouse. I germinate in colored vitamin containers. Each day is lined with folded paper towel pieces. Each day is a certain strain to keep genetics separated. I go straight into 35 and 45 gallon grow bags. I leave a keg cup sized area of unfertilized potting soil. My surrounding soil mix is already organically prepared for future growth. I often use feminized seeds. I can plant two seeds per bag, then I cull the weaker seedling after two weeks. This works very well for my environment and growing style.
Peace brother
