Hello, I'm soon to start my first outdoor grow, well my first grow ever actually. Easy Bud Auto and Northern Lights Auto.
I'm intending to start them off in their final pots. My question is this - How long do I need to keep them indoors after putting the seed in the pot before I put them outside? I'm in the south of Australia and it's now springtime with warmer temps around the corner, so I'll probably get under way in a couple of weeks time. Advice appreciated. If this has already been covered in another post - apologies. Many thanks all.

Thanks very much 420Forever - I appreciate your help. I'm not very tech savvy and the green bandit did say back in June to let him know when I was gunna start growing , but I don't know how to tag him, or whatever it's called. Sorry!

that'z ok, he'll catch the tag i sent  to tag someone, jus put the @ sign in front of their name, with no spacez, like this -> @420Forever ;) and another tip is that once u type the @ and a couple letterz of their name, a dropdown will appear giving possible matchez, of which u jus pick the one ur wantin & viola! :shooty: ppp

Hello Tracey
What i do is soak, the seed in water over night, then check on the seed, and tap to see if it will sink. It was first time this year using jiffys over the paper towel method. They seem good, and less handing and no transplant shock and go directly into the main pot. I used a light this time with the seedling. Cheap CFL on ebay about 55$ delivered. New soil, this time searles organic potting mix, special order through bunnings. they seem to be loving it. My first 2 grows were with Searles Premium potting mix 12 month fert in it.

my buddy Green Bandit helped me, he also grows outdoors and put me onto the CFL lights

Thanks very much smokeyfromau - so if the seed sinks in the glass then it's good to go into the soil or the jiffy? And then just the Searles organic potting mix without any perlite etc?

jus me own 2 ctz, but adding perlite is never a bad idea ;) helpz aerate the soil for better feeding, as well as drainage  ppp

Solid advice 420 and thanks for the tag mate .... @tracyd I start my seeds straight into a moist pot and skip the glass of water, just remember to keep the soil moist until it comes up :toke:.....if not using lights at all your seedling will have to go out into gentle sun from when they first stand up. I would not put them into direct sun between 9am and 3pm as it's likely too intense for a little sprout and will burn it! I would also bring them back inside if temps are below 12 c of a night as cool temps slow seedlings drastically. It will take a couple of weeks of gradually introducing her to the sun until she is ready to go out in it all day. The best advice I can give is to start a journal up so some more experienced peeps can tag along and help point you in the right direction if you get stuck :headbang:.....any thing else I can help with just tag me like this @the green bandit good luck buddy :pass:
