from my past experience i noticed the mass of roots will mostly not go deeper then 4-5 inch [70% of root mass] but i hear with autoflowers wen ever the main root hits the botom of the pot if wen it will actually go from Veg state to Bloom state ,im doing a experimental grow with a 5 inch deep random ice cream jar that i puntched holes in the botom ,il probly post my grow in a log here later this week end the seedling gets a litle more picture worthy :smokebuds:

if this were the case why would ones in nature auto??
i have had many flower after one internode after selected breeding for them to do so and they were far from the bottom of the containers
it is a genetic trait passed on
some auto at earlier times than others and dif internode lengths it depends on the previous genetics choosen from to determine when it will flower

well most of my experience is on Photoperiod plants =/ what u said makes tottal scence lol

but i will say it is always possibly genetically some could push for an earlier sex due to the tap root stress or it could stunt it's growth vertically or it might not
dif genetics will always play a role even w alot of inbreeding we don't know what the plant will be genetically predispositioned to do
i have seen some react very poorly to shallow containers and some don't seem to care
but giving roots room to stretch out their feet and get comfortable is always the answer if space permits for sure

I have a question about shipping and customs. When i track my order it says

Processed Through Sort Facility February 21, 2013, 5:10 am ISC NEW YORK NY(USPS)

Processed through USPS Sort Facility February 21, 2013, 9:22 pm JAMAICA, NY 11430

Does this mean it has made it past customs?

Your package is at the usps facility at jfk intl airport. Unless something totally bizarre happens you are thru customs clean

Hey guys little update on my Shwag seeds. One still has the seed of top of it and the other is looking pretty healthy to me. Still waiting on my good auto flowers though. :beast:

should i try to get that seed off with my hands, or just let the leaves try to pop it off?

You can spray it a little with water and that helps it soften up and pop off. I have used my hands carefully before, but sometimes end up screwing them up so don't usually.
