New Grower Newbie Autoflower Grow (autopot)

thank you @davisgirl …..I will use the recirculating .. so is that 100pm including my water ppm?
Your water ppm is nice and low. Don’t include it.

The schedule says week 1: 2.5 mL/gallon each of micro, grow and bloom. Maybe just round that down to 1 mL each. Add the micro first, then the others.

Will you be using calmag? Later when you use calmag, add that first, then the micro.

thank you @davisgirl …..I will use the recirculating .. so is that 100pm including my water ppm?

It should never include your tap water PPM. But 100 ppm is way to low based on what I have read and done. There is a thread in the coco board by @blue and the first couple of pages talk about how coco should never have less than 600 ppm watering. Canna, the maker of your bricks I believe, did studies on it and published a doc on it. So I followed that regime this last grow. Hydrated the bricks using 600 ppm. and every watering was min 600 ppm. Turned out really well. Had some very nice and fast veg growth. Kicked in to flower right on day 30.

I know everyone has different ways and you'll have to find yours. And you have nutes I'm not at all familiar with. And doesnt the vendors schedule say to start at 300 ppm in week 1?

I don't know if this analogy makes sense, but if you're driving on a highway and you can do 100km/hr instead of 20km/hr, what would make the most sense? But if the car you are driving (nutes) is supposed to be driving at 20 then I guess you might want to do that.

Anyway I suggest you go read that thread. It's got some key coco information in it that you might not be aware of. Or maybe you have already.

Good luck. Looking forward to seeing what happens.

Hi @davisgirl ..sorry for the late response .. I didn't realize it was here .. I am a newbie to this site as well still need to figure it out .. Yes I am using calmag as I am growing in coco and using LED light. I have an optic 6 light

Hi @lunerman … OMG my nutes are way to low then .. I just fed them again at 220 PPM .. I guess I should bump it up the next feed .. I will also read the article

I appreciate both of your feedback and impute …

Here is a couple of pictures of the girls .. I gave up on the one lemon haze seed the tap root didn't grow at all when I check it … I put it in paper towel again but nothing still after a couple of days so I decided to germinate a Tangerine Dream .. No problems with her … she popped up above ground the next day after I planted her .. I am wondering if I just got a bad seed .. I think the DD got a bit of a light burn on one leaf each from the CFL's I have switch now to the Optic 6 at 48" high

here are some picks of the DD's and the one lemon haze .. I don't have a picture of the tangerine dream yet...

I am just reading the Canna website .. under grow guides .. I used 1 gallon my EC level would be 0.1 and with a light feeding, your right my PPM is way too low .. like 300 PPM too low .. Oh well .. I will have to up it next time …. When I added all the nutes at 1/4 strength it came out as 565 PPM (with my water of 67 ppm) I panicked and started diluting it .. I was thinking OMG how come so high but now I understand .. it was suppose to be there .. LOL Thank you soooooooooooo much for you impute … good thing they are still young and in coco because I know tomorrow I can up use what I made and not worry that its too high... the girls seem to be doing well though ..

Yes they are looking well for sure. Quite good for day 8. A little light in color and that's probably from the diluted nutes and lack of Nitrogen.

How much PPM water did you prime your coco in the autopots with? And how is the moisture level in the coco where your transplant will be? You'll want to make sure your nute strength is back up to normal in the autopots but also you don't want to soak the coco in the pots because you have to add more nutes.

You feeling good about the transplant? A couple of tips for you. I'd water the cups before so its more solid. And pack it down from the top if it needs it. You can take a skinny knife and run it around the inside edges of the cup to loosen the coco up so it slides out easy. Also you can roll the cup a bit on the sides to loosen up the coco to slide out.

And if you have any mycorrhizae powder you should put that in the autopot holes where you will drop the cup plant in to.

I didn't measure the PPM for the coco .. I used 1/8 strength nutes so its was probably around the 300 mark .. never thought to measure the for priming the coco..probably too low for Priming ... I was wondering if the leaves were too light so thank you for letting me know your thoughts .. I wasn't sure .... I am finding that I only have to water them once a day and I am watering them from the bottom .. they are sucking the nutes quickly when I dunk the bottom in the nute mix .. its a clear cup I am using to dunk them and its funny cause I can see the draw... maybe they are drawing like that because the nutes are too low... Do you think I should slowly up it for a couple of days? or just go with the 565 PPM tomorrow? Also do nutes PPM rise if just left sitting there? I am wondering because I have a lot of the nutes left from the mix I made this morning and I just checked them and they are at 700PPM?

I am a little nervous about the transplanting because I have read so much not to .. but I like a bit of a challenge so I am going to do it ... Yes I have mycorrhizae powder.. I purchased it when I decided to try to transplant .. it says to use a tablespoon and sprinkle it around into the hole... I will let you know how it goes .. I am curious too see the roots tomorrow ..

thank you

I would take 700 ppm water if you have it and put some each autopot now so its dried out a bit for tomorrow. PPM will not drift over time. PH levels can though. I'm not following what you said about dunking exactly. I dunked once a day too. And I'd drop the cup about 2 inches in to the water and hold it for about 1.5 to 2 seconds. Then do a quick check with the meter. And weigh it too.

Sounds good I will give them the 700 ppm … I am not sure then why its 700 this evening when it was 565 this morning … I do the same as you when it comes to the dunking of the cup into the nutes .. I just have a bit of a twisted sense of humour and find some things funny that other might not .. LOL .. I do the check with the meter but I will start weighing it too …
