Photoperiod New project...

So thought I would give a reviews of the new soil I am experimenting with. The Black gold is OMRI listed which is awesome but looking at the ingredients it is pretty much just peat, perlite and some worm castings. It says it might contain some compost. The NPK is only 0.05-0-0 so going to have to add something to both bloom and veg soil. This might be a good cheep soil to use for the sub cool recipe in the future as you pretty much add every thing a plant needs to that. Might also be a good soil for autos if a person is looking to mix there nutrients in as it starts out with almost no nutrients in it.

The compost I have is ACE brand. Not ORMI listed and dose not have any information on it.

I was going to mix things up last night but got up early today so I could get things done around the house early today before I go to work.

K so I mixed my soil up just now. The veg mix got 2 red solo cups full of steer manure, 2 red solo cups full of mushroom compost, 2 red solo cups of the ace compost, 1/4 cup of fine oyster shell and 1/4 cup of lime. I am hoping there is enough phosphorus in the mix for the veg cycle. I know you don't need as much during veg and hope the manure and mushroom compost has enough, guess we will see when I transplant next week.

The bloom mix went as follows. 1, 8 qt bag of Black gold worm castings, 3 red solo cups of manure, 3 red solo cups of mushroom compost, 2 actual cups (16 ounce ) of bat guano,1/4 cup of green sand, 1/4 cup of fine oyster shell, 1/4 cup lime, 2 table spoons of epsom salt, 2 table spoons of gypsum, 2 table spoons of azomite.

Now its just a waiting game.

So here are my 2 sub cool recipe plants before transplanting to there veg pots. The Blue cheese and one of the clones. The clones roots look amazing. The seed roots look just as good. When I first transplanted the clone I tore the root ball to about the size of my fist and it recovered amazing.

Here they are after transplant. I transplanted the seed sideways as its stem was crooked and I thought it would case stress later in the grow. It is now strait again today.

The kush seed and the other clone. The clone is showing a little stress in the leafs due to the low 20* humidity in my grow tent. These plants are transplanted in to the Black gold soil and are being watered with distilled sink water. Probably a good thing too as the sink water is in the 8+ PH range and this is a peat soil. Although the amendments I have added have not had time to break down yet which I hope dose not cause any problems.

Thanks, I am noticing some purple on the stems of both the clone and seed plant that are in the black gold soil as of today. Might be a PH thing but I don't have a way of checking soil PH right now. Should have bought a probe for this experiment to help with figuring out how to balance my PH. I probably should have added some bone meal instead of the oyster shell and some epsom salt too. O well any problems I end up having I can fix. I did add things to the soil that take a long time to react so I will be a little slow to react to little problems for right now. Thanks for watching.

Well should have taken a before picture as I have stripped my clones of all there fan leaves and they look spindly now. They were full and awesome but I am trying to slow there growth. I think this will be the last time I strip them though. The seeds should catch up after this. I think I have about 20-25 days tell I switch to my bloom cycle.

The plants in the black gold soil being watered with distilled sink water look just as good as the roots organic plants with the bottled water so far.

These are my plants in the black gold mix. As you can see I stripped the clone pretty hard to slow the plant down so the seed can catch up.
