hello!
I’m growing twi different strains at the moment and one of them is looking a little unwell. From what I’ve read id guess it’s mag def.

Problem: yellowing on new growth, slightly malformed. Pheno has showed mutations, triple leaves, from get go.
-Medium/grow method: coco/perlite mix, sensi pro biodiesel brand.
-Feed and supplements used:
full bio diesel lineup.
my journal gives a detailed description of every feed, Ec, ph.
Started with a precharge of EC .5 before planting. Misted for a day one they were above ground, then fed with .5 working up to .6 for first 2 weeks + every 3/4 days. Did not feed to run off. Fed them seedling stage lineup with Cana rhizo.
Last two feeds have been veg feed (cal mag is included in lineup) first .7ec last .8ec, ph 5.8 both times. Fed to run off of over 20%, last feed almost 50% run off, too much! So will go down from 4 litres each to 3. I’m on grow 2 at the moment adding extra base nutes to bring mix up to the correct ec.
brand is also sensi pro bio diesel.See chart below, I use this as a rough guide but go by etc rather than suggested, this means I have to add more!

-Water source: tap water, ec.1, ph7
I let stand for days while being bubbled.

-Strain and age : Dutch passion - compassion lime 22 days old
-Climate: it’s pretty much a loft grow, so at the whim of the weather with regard to heat. I do however have an ac unit hooked up which turns on if I go over 32. AC infinity on smart mode, full blast when it hits 28. Temps ranging from 22c - 30c
Rh 55 -65 generally
- Light used: Cob - optic 2, 2 x 55watt, a further 100 watt with bloom enhancer. If temps allow I have two more optic 1 xls with 100 watt each full spectrum. 18/6 schedule
-Additional info: one leaf showed a couple of rust spots a week ago, but did not progress. Now that growth is kicking off she is showing issues in new growth. Rust spots have not progressed.

I tested run off last feed which came out with an EC of 1.1/1.2 ph 5.8. It’s higher than what I’m putting in, but is that high enough to cause lock out? I haven’t seen any signs of burn or over feeding, unless this is it.
both ec pen and ph pen are blue lab and calibrated. I had cheap Chinese ones a few years back, but they really were trash, so splashed out for this grow!
Any and all help appreciated. It’s far from extreme but better to nip it in the bud now then wait for it to progress! Let me know if I’ve missed anything, otherwise my journal has much more detail in new growers forum
Thanks you!

It looks more environmental than what nutrients are in the pot. At 30°C with 55% RH you are in the danger zone. It needs to be 70% for the sweet spot. Fix this if you can. It will get a little dicey when they are in full flower and you want to run RH a little lower and you will want to lower temps then if you can.

This could also just be one of those plants that refuses to be happy when everyone else is. It is pretty minor at the moment so just keep doing what you have been and keep an eye on it.

Does Biodiesel nutes have guaranteed analysis and ingredient listed on the back labels? Take some pictures if they do, please. I cannot find that info here.

Hi @Mañ'O'Green
Appreciate the feedback.
Climate definitely the toughest thing for me to control. I have a humidifier, but not a dehumidifier, so lowering will be tricky. I did however have an AC unit that I’ve hooked up to the tent, this only goes on when it hits 32c.
I may of not been clear but the temps and rh I have are the extreme ends. Generally speaking temps are 24-28, rh 55-65. There are occasional days where it gets hot up to 30, twice since they sprouted. My main issue with running the AC unit regularly is that it pumps the tent up with positive pressure. The unit is outside the tent and I have attached ducting to the cooling outtake directly into the tent. I’ve had to split a big hole into the ducting at the Ac side to reduce the amount of air it pushes in. Main problem is once theyre in flower that positive pressure going to stink the house out.
it’s not so bad now though, and have managed to just about create equilibrium between cool air in and the fan pulling air out when it is on. I run the Ac unit on a inkbird thermo controller.
I was hoping to be able to use my two other cobs in addition to the optic 2 during flower as it’s not quite rated for 2x4 tent for flowering. These however definitely push temps up. Possibly a bad trade off, may be better with less light.
She’s definitely doing some strange things, some secondary branching is coming through with for sets of leaves. Other leaves have strange variations of finger count.
Can’t say I know whether bio diesels’ guaranteed or how accurate they are. But I’ve heard good things from a few hydro store shop owners and read up a fair bit and seems good enough quality.

strangely photos are cropped. But I think you get the picture.
heres the link to their product pages. It is all a little vague I must admit.

thank you very much for the thought, very much appreciated!

I have also heard good things about this product line and was curious as to the balance of Magnesium they use,

So it appears to be on the high side already. It is doubtful there is or will be a deficiency.

Right ok, so likely just an issue with the plant and genetics? Possibly climate. I’ll do my best to keep it in check anyway.

thanks for the thoughts
