As a rule of thumb :-

1) damaged fan leaves
2) base up older first
3) covering a bud site
4) fan leaf pointing inwards

Week 3 - 6 - I remove half a medium sized freezer bag of fan leaves per plant per week.

When I can see the main stem clearly from all angles I stop. Personally, I think well grown autos need it to max yield.

Then I leaf tuck mid flower onwards - don’t rock the boat ;-)

Edit : buy yourself some trimming scissocors of ebay/Amazon - a god send!!!!
