New Grower New Grower, looking for some guidance

the pot is in a bucket with holes ? that would create poor airflow and prolong drying out ? an oscillating fan pointed at pot will help speed things up.
good luck n keep er lit.

Guess I should elaborate more of the setup.
It's a space bucket, so a 5 gallon bucket with holes drilled in the bottom and a tray underneath. On the side of the bucket I have a 3-speed PC intake fan blowing in sideways at the top of smart pot. The outtake fan is on the lid at light level.

Hi There! :D

Those leaves look like over watering me! It could well be that the soil isn't areated enough (to heavy / not enough perlite) or perhaps it's sat in run off water?
If that's the case then you could try and raise it on with something (like a cake stand for example .. if it were a solid pot, you could put little feet under it)

There's one opinion! :D I'm sure you'll get some more!

I agree with @blue here. I think the soil does not have adequate aeration. What I would do is use less water and check more often. I have a suggestion that will take most of the guesswork out of it but may require the use of a new bucket depending on where you cut your holes.

Can you take pics for me of your complete setup, and we can get you all sorted out. Maximum cost: 2 new buckets.

Anyway, this is what I'd do:
  1. Make sure my bucket with my plant had holes minimum 1.5 inches from the bottom on the side of the bucket.
  2. Fill to 1/2" ABOVE holes with gravel (washed) or perlite in the bottom of the bucket.
  3. Place plant on top of gravel or perlite.
  4. Water into the bottom of the gravel or perlite, not the plant itself until water drains out the holes. The reason for this is that with capillary wicking action the soil and roots can draw in water from the gravel but the top will always be dry so the roots can always breathe. This should prevent over watering from occuring even in poorly aerated mixes.
Hopefully this can solve your problem without having to start over with a new soil mix and seed.
