I'm new to this forum, so let me know if this sort of thread belongs elsewhere.

I have had a beautiful relationship with cannabis for several years and now I'm nearly ready to begin working with the green goddess in cultivation to bring more love into the world. I have been drawn to cannabis with ruderalis genetics for many reasons including the size, relatively short flowering time, ability to stagger growing cycles for each plant, and higher levels of CBD.

I'm going to be growing within the legal limits of Oregon, but my closet space is limited. Essentially I'm trying to figure out what the best strain would be for maximum potency while retaining a small, compact size. Another factor is resin production, as I'm hoping to try different hash making methods. I also tend to have a preference for stoney indica-dominant strains.

The strains I've looked at and have been most interested in so far are:

- AutoNight Queen from Dutch Passion: https://www.dutch-passion.com/en/cannabis-seeds/product/autonight-queen-autoflower-weed-seeds/

- Trans Siberian from Auto Seeds: http://autoseeds.com/trans-siberian-seeds.html

- West Coast OG from Fast Buds: https://2fast4buds.com/seeds/west-coast-og

It's hard to tell from any of the descriptions how small and compact any of the plants are. I've looked at a few AutoNight Queen grows on these forums, and it pretty much looks like exactly what I'm looking for, but I still couldn't tell how big the plants were.

Any other suggestions are appreciated.

First of all the descriptions are just sales literature and not to be taken seriously. Indicas are easy to find. What height are you talking about? Anything that is described as short will probably have a low yield like 28 grams, but there are plenty of plants that are not called short but grow shorter than some others if that is the big issue. The descriptions today are not very detailed because so many growers have different methods and to one it is a compact plant but another may grow it into a monster, so they mostly just rave about the new seed.

Sorry bud that's not true, or at least from quality breeders. I've grown out at least a dozen Dutch Passion strains and descriptions have been very good on both size of plants as well as tastes, smells and types of high.

@AeonSophia - Small compact is what you are after, but profuse flowering plants. I'd suggest
Autoflower Portal Moonstone and Black Dragon
DP Night Queen - In he process of growing...seem short for sure.

Some pics of short but still decent yielding(2oz+ per plant) autoflower portal plants

I'm actually not terribly limited with my grow space. My closet is plenty tall and long, but it isn't very wide, which will make it probably impossible to set up my four 5gal fabric pots in a square pattern. I might have to do more of a rhomboid pattern, unless the plants are quite small. I realize different setups, and even different phenotypes can result in varied growing sizes. I'm just looking for plants that tend to grow very compact, rather than long wispy branches.

I would look at -

Mephisto genetics - 24 carat, Skywalker og

Autoflower portal - stone dragon, black dragon

Dinafem - industrial plant cbd, bubba kush auto

Thanks for the recommendations. I haven't even checked out Autoflower Portal yet.

Those are some gorgeous, chunky little plants. Did you grow those? Thhey look like exactly what I'm after. Have they been trimmed? The pictures on Autoflower Portlal look a lot leafier. I'm also a bit confused because you listed Moonstone and Black Dragon, but the pictures are titled Moonstone and Bloodstone. Is Bloodstone just the red pheno of Stone Dragon?
I was kind of set on getting so-called "feminized" seeds for the ease, but maybe I should reconsider. Especially with that Stone Dragon sale that's going on.

What stage of growth are you in with the Night Queen? Based off some of the grows I've seen on here it seems pretty small, but some of the phenotypes are bigger than others.

Hey...yes those were from my microgrow last winter(54"X16"wide X34" from the top of the pots to the lights surface). Those plants were trimmed before pics. Bloodstone is another shorty strain from the portal. I have 3 stone dragons growing right now as well, but I stunted them so they are really, really short.
I also believe that IR lighting helped to keep these plants short and nodes stacked tightly.
ANightQueen is around day 40 and is quite a short girl measuring at 16" maybe 18".

Oh yeah, I found your microgrow thread. I'll have to do some studying. That's really good to know about IR. I have a cheap LED from ebay with IR and I'm going to get another one, or a similar one like Marshydro.

I'm sure I'll figure it out if I go through your thread, but how did they get stunted?

I'm feeling torn between Night Queen and Stone Dragon for my first grow. If they're not out of stock by the time I get paid next week, I can get 15 Stone Dragon regular seeds plus 10 free Moonstone regular seeds, which seems like an amazing deal, even if I do have to weed out the pollinating plants. I could even save some and do some breeding experiments in the future.

Thanks for the tips @912GreenSkell. Very helpful.

Whats up lots of valuable info here... for what you want i wpuld reccomend 3 gallon pots. And running anything from mephisto that has sour in the name. They are all crosses of my all time favorite plant sour crack. They stay short but put on compact indica buds and average about 2 oz per plant.

Good to know! I knew some of mephistos strains stayed sort but I didn't know which did.
