I always use vinigar as my favorite pH down product. I mix a cup of plain white vinigar into a 2 litre pop bottle and add as required. I have used it in all curcumstances with good resuts.

I don't use baking soda but I do use Cal/mag. Hell if the few times the pH has to go up what a chance to add a little calcium and magnesium. again always had good results.

Thanks Nelson so instead of baking soda I should use Cal/mag,how about u sulfured molasses????is that ok

I wouldn't use molasses to adjust ph ,just use it as a supliment.Get a bottle of up or down at the grow store 1gt about ten bucks and it will last forever.

just remember, if you use lime to raise your soil ph, it has cal mag in it, so if you use cal mag to raise your water's ph as well, it could toxify your plant.

not sure, never used it. just fig'd id mention that. test your soil's ph, then youll know my friend.

Pest problem.....:twist: from what I can explain is when i disturb the soil a little I see what looks like black tiny flies or Nat's..I also saw what look kind of white and tiny kind of flew or jumped around kind of looked like lice,I dunno as I still pretty new,but I don't want those fuckers around I know that.....any info would be greatly appericated,have a good night AFN

fungus gnats... make sure your soil gets to dry out a bit.... get some fly sticky strips.... and you can put 1/2" of sand (fine) on top of your soil to help stop them from breeding...

OK thank Jm....how about those mosquito dunks,would those work also?...how about that play sand from Lowes,,,do I still water with the sand on top of soil....I will get some of those sticky traps tommorow...hope all is well with you bro...thanks for the info as always

With those mosquito dunks is it like one per gallon of water and just water plants....anyone with any info on this would be a huge help
