HELLO AFN! Have a question before I start dwc. a friend of mine told me that in dwc,

1) If ph goes up, add more nutes, and if the ph goes down, add less. is this a fact??

2) Is the Lucas formula a solid way to go?

My setup will be 1-5 gal. DWC bucket in a 3x3 tent with carbon filter and 310w LED.

feedback would be great!!!

the general concept is good... but thats a VERY broad brush stroke...
ph has to be kept in balance... but its not always possible with just nutes...

I'm sure a hydro grower willc hime in shortly.

:toke:

welcome to AFN

I don't worry about that too much... if you add more nutes you could be overfeeding them nutes they can't absorb..I just change the water every week, when I add plain (ro/distilled) water during the week I ph up/down after I add the water

If you are feeding them the perfect amount, the ph and ec should stay pretty stable...
EC goes up, PH goes down = Plants require less nutrients (drinking more water than neuts)
EC goes down, PH goes up = Plants require more nutrients (drinking more neuts than water)
EC stable, PH stable = Spot on
