So this is the start of my grow journal. I am currently in a 48 x 48 x 78 grow tent. I am using two 300 W CFL‘s exclusively for their first week of growth. I also have four 225 W LED full spectrum flat panel fixtures which will be used starting in the second week of vegetation along with the CFL‘s. I have a 165 CFM exhaust fan with two 8 inch fans for circulation. I also have ducting attached to my AC vent in the ceiling for cooling. Those are the technical statistics.
I am using two18 gallon Rubbermaid tub’s filled with 10 gallons of water, 6 inch net pots, and 4 inch rockwool cubes along with clay pellets for my DWC drip irrigation system. My nutrients are all from Advanced Nutrients: PH perfect grow, micro, and bloom with Voodoo Juice, B-52, Overdrive, and Flawless Finish for the end. My seeds are all through Seedsman. The two plants that I am currently growing are their Northern Lights x Big Bud and American Pie from Pyramid Seeds.
I am hoping that this third attempt at hydroponics turns out better then my last two attempts which suffered from root rot which cut my yield by about 1/3. Any suggestions or tips and tricks will be greatly appreciated in this third endeavor of mine.

you call it a drip system, but looks like its proper pissing over the lil seedling :eek1: looks a bit lanky a few more stones maybe.have you had a ganzie at the hydro section some top stickies threads in there,Ash-a-Ton s a good one to look out for.
good luck n keep er lit

[emoji23][emoji23] sorry i both agreed but died laughing when i read that!! Im def gunna follow because im interested in dwc and thinking about the future

committing 1 crime to avoid commiting multiple crimes... is it ethical? is it moral?

Yeah I noticed that too when I was taking the picture and had to adjust the tie on it to drip instead of “pissing” on the little bugger. Had a good laugh at that myself! Most of what I have done is DIY. The light fixture is nothing more than an old baby gate that I mounted the lights to. The pumps are recycled fountain pumps for small indoor fountains that I refurbished. The first grow that I had before buying the tent was a 7‘ x 2‘ x 2‘ solid wood filing cabinet. I used computer fans and CFL’s for that one and it worked OK but I felt I needed more room so I bought the tent. I just hope all goes well with this grow. It would be nice to share the pictures of my progress and be proud of them as well. Thanks for the comments!

Sounds like an interesting setup! If you have a few spare moments to burn, have a read of this article http://www.autoflower.org/threads/t...raining-yourself-to-be-a-better-grower.64226/

You can freeze gallon jugs of water throw them into your res and that will help keep temps in check to avoid root rot. You can also make big ice cubes out of buckets or whatever you have on hand.

The ice cube should be made of ph water so when it dissolves it doesn't hurt the solution. Then you can come back later when you have new blocks and adjust Ppm according

Thanks for the tip Free Flow. I now have six one gallon jugs of water in my upright freezer so that I can rotate them out as necessary. My H2O temperatures run about 76 to 78°, and I can’t see how this would hurt my plants at all. With all the heat and humidity here any bit of cooling that I can provide for my girls will be greatly appreciated by them I’m sure.

Get some Botanicare HydroGuard and use it throughout your grow....... the proof is in the pudding. You might also read my DWC thread here just to make sure you have the bases covered. It looks like you have all of the pieces to the puzzle except hydroguard.
