Gnome Automatics My Journey to ALF#5

Is there an age range of when males produce viable pollen? I have some good regular beans that i am considering trying for pollen later this year.
I have always had seed set with early and late pollen, once the dust is flying its usually good, that is why its so important to make sure that they males get removed before they get the chance to open.

@FullDuplex Looking great in here brother!

Nice male you chose, with nice open structure.

Just grew out a couple of DC photos, and just received a pack of original Tom Hill DC beans for a OP repro. I have grown a fair amount of Indicas, but the DC leaves are by far the widest fingered and biggest leaves on any plants that I have grown. Wild Paki (a.k.a. Aunt of Forouk) comes close (Pakistani landrace). We do love our Indicas!

Peace

@Dudeski :smoking: How I wish I could have tried them as they were back then! My eye is always out for the old school landracey strains, even if I have 0 chance of growing them successfully where I am,.. Look up a seed co. called CannBioGen (Single Seed Center has a great selection), they have stuff like Colombian Punta Rojo and Mangobiche, Panama, Panama x Deep Chunk,... :hump:

, check this out! they have a super deep purple Bubba K' variant called Peyote Purple! Damn, they recently sold out too,... BUT if you were looking to color up something and keep it Bubba-related, this could be frickin' magic! :wiz:

Yeah he has that Kush feel, i really didnt do him justice because of the small container, but he has that classic center post with satellites. That structure with his fat true second set make me want to roll him. Im just glad he decided not to herm on me, i stress all my males, remove the instability in them early makes for a better product in the end, yeah it might take me a cycle longer than most but my jems are as stable as any auto youll see. IF you need something with a light afghan back ground and the auto gene my Jem is the ticket. Its not a huge plant but its got the most stable auto genetics ive see to date.

Id love to have my hands on some original DC beans, id love to BX the dragon to her and see what would happen. Hell or even bring a male to the DC, either way the BX would be a meld i think. It has enough separation from the original mother that a BX would be in order i think to isolate more of the heavy resin production. I think that the dragon is hiding that trait, somewhere its in there we just havent see it yet, i think that we get color blind sometimes and miss the other traits, i know i do.
I do love my indicas, the sati's fuck with me too much in the head. I cant do that racy head feeling it gets me all spacey. i get super super paranoid on them and that is not for me, same reason i never do shrooms...no way i need to fuck with whats already fucked up

My wife is going to kill me now that i am on the hunt for those, but good lord at the beauty of that thing. I did some reserch on them and will hunt some of those down, id love to see what the true expression of the pheno is. To see if it colors up like the photos i have looked at. There is color blood in this line but its not as dom as some of the other dragon lines i have split up. This one that i have used here had super thick dense buds, almost NL like and had thick bamboo like main and secondary branches. The knuckles at the base of the stems are as big as a mans wedding band too. So there is support there for high yield, and nice thick buds. The thing with this is i am looking for what most would call the holy grail. Im looking for resin, and density....i have the density i think in the dragon cause all the F1 females are showing the same thick stems now lets see if i get the same resin production i got from the mother.

Shhhhhhh.... @Mossy will kill me if that gets out too far...actually im sure she'd share the same thing. She has nothing to hide on the background of them at this point because they are out there.

Well she was.....so she is in a neighboring tent, and that tent is watched buy an apprentice, who saw the buds forming and used a wee bit much on the fert side for bloom and smoked her pretty good, i mean its ugly but it hasnt slowed her down. Itll still make bud and most important still make seed as long as she does no further damage to it. She was doing so good, and i was backing off this grow as she was turning out plants as good looking as mine. Then she got excited with these and their size...it happens its all a learning experience really.

I hope that by F3 i can see a good enough blend that ill be able to either BX to the Mom or get a photo of the mothers genetics and do a rough BX so i can bring out the auto gene again. Its still early and i haven't seen enough of the females yet to make a hard decision. Im sure theyll be a few phenos i isolate for their own lines.:toke:
