Indoor My first journal

Lol ok dude it's your grow do what you want id rather put that money elsewhere like lighting or better yet not spend it at all. You dont believe lower humidity is better for flower ? Lol dude Everyone knows you lower humidity throughout the stages of growth it's basic knowledge and there's plenty of overpriced equipment out there for people looking to waste money . I'm not here to play who's the know it all. I'm here to help a fellow grower not argue with someone over humidity.

Thanks man and I hear you on overthinking for sure.

Think I’m going to drink a cold beer, bowl hit and forget about it for a while!!

Appreciate the kudos too.

The longer you stay out of their way the more comfortable they get and plus it makes for a better surprise when you do give them a visit.

I will be running 60% RH in my grow during flower. The journal is in my signature. Check it out once and while and we'll see how the higher RH does in flower if you are interested to see what happens.

I'll check it out but you should try one plant at 40 % at the last week or two during flush it helps build canaboids and helps mature your trichs. Humidity where I live is the enemy during summer. It's a constant 70+% I run two huge 800cfm exhaust fans just to maintain under 90 degrees.

Thanks for the reply @Tyler_Durden88. Yes sir on the fan but need one more on the floor nearest my blue toof. Semi dead zone or minimal air in that spot.

And feeding every watering with my Medina products...Medina plus soil activator with seaweed and Hasta Gro. One dose of fox farms kangaroot 2 weeks ago. Foliar feed every 4th day...the spots on the leaves give it away. Medina has never let me down in my veggie and flower gardens.

In saying that, thinking on holding off on any more manipulation of plant structure. Seems I’m behind? I’ve seen a few sour cracks that far exceed my height and a few Grapey Walters that make mine look wimpy...even though I’m keeping her low. My huge swings in humidity probably aren’t helping. Humidifier on order Monday.

Prolly thinking too much at this point.
Hey watch out for training in cold temps I just had a power outage and wasent home to run the generator and one of my white cracks snapped in half. The temp was 50 degrees in the seedlings tent it dissent long enough to hurt them but still snapped the white crack. The stems got really stiff and brittle.

I know, I'd like to compare different RH like 40 vs 60 in some sort of controlled fashion. I've done the low RH in flower before so I have a feel for that. Now I'll do higher RH and see if I can make some sort of judgement on the difference. I'll be running 60% in flowers hopefully for the full period or until I have to reduce it.

That environment sounds hard. 70% and 90F and 1600 CFM is not trivial. what about a dehumidifier?

Yea I run one when it's really wet out I bring in fresh air from outside and pull it right back out pretty fast so the dehumidifier can't catch up but if I lower fan speed it gets to hot. I tried running a little a.c. unit and that worked but I don't like pulling that much power for fear of the power company raising their eyebrows. But the Higher humidity helps hold heat better in the winter with my oil heaters. I bought a environment controller to manage things and that's helped alot. This spring im exspanding my grow space considerably. By 10x at least. And the guys from black sail COB gave me a good idea by using geothermal energy to cool my grow space so hopfully this wont be a problem for long.

What environmental controller? I'm interested in that. It might be the next step for me to look at.

Thanks guys I’m learning from all these gurus like you two. Appreciate both of your takes on humidity control.

Quick update no pics this time though. All are flowering now with sour crack consuming the most water. She was thirsty. Water time last night...first top dressed with dry lady bug fertilizer 4-6-4 and worked it into top layer of soil. Mixed 3 gallon solution of Medina plus, hasta gro 6-12-6 and fox farm big bloom. Checked the girls this morning they are really, really happy and pushing the goodness to the lights. My soil critters are even happier. They’ll get some molasses next watering.

My humidifier task last night failed. Buddy gave me a cheap Vic’s cool mist that was brand new. Loaded it up with distilled water, opened room door and dropped the damn thing and 1.2 gallons of water all over grow room. Think I cracked the housing too. Pharking pissed me off to be quite honest. Dehumid kicked on about 15 minutes later. The Temps/humidity this morning a steady 78 and 57% rh.

You guys ever use a mulch to hold water longer? Let me see what the AFN organic folks say too.

Y’all have a good one and thanks again.

Good thing that wasnt some expensive humidifier :smoking:
Seriously though, that sucks.
Have not used mulch myself so can't offer any thoughts on what its like.
