New Grower My first grow journal. Heavyweight Strawberry Cheese Cake

Hey Pigman, just got caught up on your grow. I think a Mars-Hydro LED would go perfect inside your cfl/pvc set up. Go check out some of the reviews. I use a 96x3 reflective series on my first grow and it seems to be doing great. They are also more affordable than most LED's and don't create the heat of HID bulbs.
The biggest thing I have problems with my first grow is to "just let the plants grow". Less is more is not a thing I am use to. The plants will talk to you, we just need to learn the language. Thats what makes these old time AFN veterans so good. They speak the language. You and I will learn it soon enough.
Love the naming of your plants. I personally number mine. I feel it will be easier to chop the head off of #1 than Sweet Suzie.
Keep the faith and less is more. Look forward for more updates.

I can't seem to find strawberry cheesecake as an auto could you put a link up to the page for me please pigman thanks

thanks all you for the awesome info and guidance, I really appreciate it.

well since the halogen lights were a strike out, I done another 4 hrs of reading the growweedeasy website you all suggested and determined that what I have just isn't going to measure up. so I don't know why I hadn't thought about it before now, but I went to amazon.com and looked at a 400w Apollo fixture with ballast that comes with a 400w MH lamp that puts out 36,000 lumens, and a HPS 400w lamp that puts out 54,000 lumens.

I also looked at a grow tent that is 36" x 36" x 80". this will give me the same 9 sq ft of space. and if I am correct in my figuring, the fixture will throw off enough light with the MH lamp for my veg stage, and the HPS lamp will give me enough light for the flowering stage.

so for a grand total of less than $250 I think I could be on the right track now. but I will have to wait about 3 weeks to get it in order for my money to be right, if ya know what I mean!

what do yall think? am I on the right track to fixing my lighting problem?

guys.... I don't know to say this in any other way..... I am a complete fucking idiot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just kill me now!!!!

it wasn't until stretch asked about posting the website to where I got the seeds from did I notice it..... these seeds are NOT auto flowering............

I went to herbies website and in the search field I put feminized, and autoflowering as my search criteria and I looked through hundreds of different seeds and picked these..... why they were listed in the same place with what I was wanting I don't know.... but everything about this grow has been a disaster! from me not having the correct light to not having autos..... im almost tempted to get a big fucking hammer and just demolish this whole fucking thing.......

all the hours of research and studying I have been doing was for auto, not photos.....

im just disgusted right now.....please pray for me!

Hello Pigman, you can keep all your studies for the future, I'm on my first grow too and I think that you can have some fun with photos too; I'm not an expert as I said, but if you're planning to grow them indoor it's not so different, you've only to switch lights to flowering time, but you can do it when you want or when you judge the plants are ready to and this is a pro... just my 2 cents :) Please don't kill them!
See You
G.

Chill pig man, there are lots of positives to take, now you know they are photo you can keep them in veg till you get the new light, going ta save a few bucks on power when they on 12\12 and they ain't as fussy to grow, choice of light is good, personally I would have gone the led route thinking about temps and power consumption but its your call, every mistake now saves you from one later.
So head up pal let's grow some strawberry cheesecake, can't wait to see its buds, you can put the hammer down now,lol

Sorry pigman I have been looking everywhere for a strawberry auto when you came up with one i had to search.

Why not get a couple auto beans to drop with your photos? You can grow them right next to your photo plants with no problems. So many options.
Remember you will have to control heat output with that HID.
