New Grower My first autoflower grow!!

Thanks guys... I forgot to mention that I have 2 vents on both sides of the tent and an extractor bathroom fan (185m3/h) that is circulating air. I originally had in mind to attach a carbon filter to it but I soon realized that it actually is putting air IN the tent not out.

Hi again.... These are some photos I had today passing the 10th weekend. One of the plants is more ahead in flowering than the other two and the bigger leaves in the bottom are turning brown and falling off sometimes by themselves. I am manually removing the others... I noticed that there a lot of little buds at the most bottom of the plants. Should I remove them or leave them be??

For my next grow I am thinking of increasing the side lighting up a bit. I found these led grow light bulbs:

What do you think guys? Are they worth it?? Will a couple of these increase the yield??

I am HID/CFL so I can provide no insight on your question.

However side lighting itself is a topic for discussion. Hopefully we will get some folks chiming in.

Here is my outlook from a rookie indoor grower who has used significant side lighting on two full grows (1000W HID & 4x 42W CFL):

Positive:
  • Extra light to lower popcorn buds to increase yield.
Negative:

  • Extended life of lower foliage, adding to the difficulty of timing your harvest. As it is, the topper is ready before the lower foliage most of the time. Keep the lower foliage alive longer; do the math.
  • Increased power bill for......nicer popcorn buds. Buds I have been throwing in those "specially marked jars."
This said, the negatives may not be applicable for LED, I have never worked LED.

Because I am a power freak and a Redneck, I still use them on my fourth grow. Currently I stop using them after mid-bloom. I also use them more for "corner lighting" where my hood is weak.

I see yout point but when I mentioned extra yield I was not thinking of the popcorn buds... I only would increase lighting in order to make the main buds grow bigger.

If that's not the case then it is really not worth it to spend more money on more lighting and bigger electricity bills!!...

With all do respect, if you are not talking about "shy corners" of the tent either, just increasing the toppers. And doing this to save $$ until you replace your main light, go for it!!!! IMHO.

Who cares about the extra money, you are talking peanuts relative to beautiful Cannabis. Especially with LED!!! Look at it this way, you invest $$$$$$$ and ponder spending $ to protect and insure your $$$$$$$$.

My idea was to use the Vipar only till the plants complete the veg process and then use the extra bulbs when they start to flower....

I just want to point out that the plants do not absorb light thru the buds they absorb it thru the leaves.. And not the bottom of the leaves but the top.. I am a believer that side lighting does very little for them.. Just my belief ...
