Now, I actually use 5 gal pots with a coco perlite mix, & have adopted & modified this external reservoir that my brother @Ash-a-Ton came up with. I put 7quart oil pan under each pot to catch runoff. I feed 2x a week, & I water heavy enough to fill the oil pans (external reservoir) all the way up. However instead of draining the runoff I leave it. I believe coco is already very airy, & with the added perlite even more so. So instead of feeding daily I let the fabric pot, the coco, & the external res do some of the work for me, as the fabric pot & the coco slowly wic up the water from the external res.View attachment 845422

That makes a lot of sense with the felt pots wicking. Next round, I think I might adopt that plan. Thanks.

I put about 2 - 3 inches of perlite in the bottom of each pot for 1 - drainage and 2 - Oxygen for roots.

Greetings All! Its Day 25
All are looking pretty good. All 3 blackberry kushs are starting to flower. I had noticed the pre-flower hairs on all 6 a couple of days ago, but did not expect flowering to start for a few more days.
Blackberry K # 2 is still the runt and continuing to improve.
I had to go back and check my notes on the strain info Polar Express Auto as it appears to be sensitive to the ferts. As thought, requires less nutrients than the others.

Cash Crop Auto [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG] Day 25 - getting a nice round full shape. I did not bend the stalk at all with LST on this 1. It is so thick that i just left it and concentrated on leaves and branches. As u can see, so far has worked out well!! It is 7 1/2" height and 18x19" wide

The Blackberry's are not as full as the cash crops, nice fat stalk, again a nice shape from LST. Approximate 8" h. 16" w

This 1 fooled me at first, i had it bending in the wrong direction but was able correct.. in a couple days should have the backside fillled. It is starting to flower so will go gently. You can in the 1 pic the open side.
