Grow Mediums Mom's Autocob, Autoflower, Autopot Grow

How are the small ones doing and when do you think they will get into their new homes?
I have broke a few plastic t-connections aswell, heard the crack and thinked - "no, that did not happen". But lucky they are replaceable.

Couldn't agree with you more about the germinating. I am not doing the paper towel technique anymore, mostly because I don't want to mess up the roots, but also because I'm not getting any younger, my eyes aren't getting better, my hands aren't getting steadier. I'm sure that mother nature did not intend for me to be handling such small delicate things that are supposed to be planted in the ground!

ditto on the eyes and hands not getting better with age.

I just used my new technique to germ two sweet seeds creme mandarine. I put them in shot glasses and put some coco on top of the plugs with the seeds underneath and in the hole that's in the plugs to keep things dark down there. The shot glasses hold the plugs well. Put the shot glasses with plugs in a tray with a dome. Put a bowl of water with a towel in the dome to create moisture. Sealed it up well. Put a T5HO bulb on top, and a heater mat underneath. Put a blanket over top. Turned off the heater mat a few times. They sprouted in 3 days. And I didn't have to touch the tap roots at all. Once I see white roots coming out the side/bottom of the plugs I'll drop the plugs in some solo cups I have ready to go. Again no transplanting/touching required for that step either. Then I'll drop the solo cups in to the autopots.

My goal is easy, no risk, effective and speedy seedings that have 3 stages of container sizes with good environment for roots to go deep. I don't want any slow germinating etc. Which can come with stress/shock etc. And seeds and seedlings are really so delicate and can be affected by the littlest things and that can throw the whole grow off in my limited experience.

I tried neem oil, sm-90 and BT (mosquito bits) in my last grow and the little buggers managed to persist throughout the grow. The problem with fungus gnats is their larva that persist in the soil and eat the roots. Of all the things I tried the physical barrier seemed to work the best. I put garden fabric over all the pots and they couldn't get from one pot to the other. They had already infested one pot really bad before I did this though and they formed a breeding colony under the fabric and I had to quarantine that plant outside lol.

On my current grow I'm starting with a pantie hose barrier to keep them out, hope it works. That and drying out the media is supposed to disrupt the larvae. If I get them again I will not hesitate to turn off the res and let the pots dry out, then do that again in five days or so to get any new ones that hatch. Fuckers :finger:
That pantyhose thang sounds like something out of an adult movie, LOL. Little fuckers. I want to do everything I can to PREVENT them from entering my tent in the first place. I think I might try that.

Im thinking the little ladies need to get bigger, maybe a week and then into their autopot coco condos!

I live in the middle of nowhere. nothing is replaceable without either amazon online or a half hour drive. I heard that crack and swore like a sailor.

If you replace them with nylon fittings they are tougher and will hold up better.

that sounds like an awesome plan! I actually had a shot glass in my hand and thinking it would be great to put the root riots in, but I didnt have 4! ha ha. great minds think alike!...I guess I am just going to keep experimenting to see which goes best for me. this grow they are in root riots, then put in small cups, then transplanted. Maybe next grow seeds will just be dropped in coco. not sure. All I know is I love experimenting.

All the babies came up within days of each-other, so for ease I am just going to call this DAY 5:
Advice needed:

I do see a little tip burn on a few of the ladies, and Gorilla OG "B" has a little leaf curl or something going on? Im thinking nute burn? Should I raise up the lights and give them a little flush?? yikes!!!

Louise STILL is not packing on buds, but showing no signs of dying yet. I am just top feeding her bloom feed and waiting for some action! I am hoping by next week at least she will be done so I can move babies into their new homes. I ordered 2 more root control disks and 2 more airdomes.

GORILLA OG A taking the lead & GLUEBERRY OG B taking up the rear.

Looks great, Massmom! Those girls are really taking off!

Curling leaves can be a pH issue. The pH could be climbing as your oxygenated water sits in the pots for a few days. I would personally give them their next feeding of pH adjusted solution and keep an eye out for any other developments. Steady as she goes, you shouldn't have introduced toxic levels of nutrients at this point.

If looking at the photo where she got all 4 ladies in e same pic, the one showing "wrinkled" leafs by the look also seems to have the most dry medium.
I know i have read and experienced that when letting the coco get to dry the plants gets upset.
She also have a darker green color against the others wich can mean that shes sucking up whatever she can, if its to dry she will suck up more nutrients then she needs, and as there is to little water her system isnt working to 100%.

Im not a cannabis-doctor, but i think i have seen this before when running coco to dry.
If she perks up in just a day, that was it.

@SPZ, what do you think, could i be on to something here?
